Oh Schmalz!
Relax? This will put me to sleep. It's sunday morning and when I get out of the bathroom, I will jump into the car and head onto the highway.
By the time [^] reaches 4:40 I want to be out of town and friction should be eating all the motor's power. In the highest gear. All the slowpokes should be in church or still in bed. Perfect. And when I arrive where I'm going, I will just switch vehicles and go even faster.

There is no need to move such a post to the Soapbox - even not all like your kind of music... It is about taste, but on politics or NSFW or other no PG rated stuff...
So relax and enjoy it
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

I usually post this in soapbox, because I add and add and add links and I do not want to bother anyone here, only in Soap box

I was thinking about a tablet, and am intrigued by this one's [^] size, feature set, and screen res, etc. Read a few reviews that say it's sturdy. And, of course, the price.
I probably wouldn't use the Android part of its double-boot feature.
Your experience ?
thanks, Bill

Bill, I've got a Hi12 - Take three tablets and call me in the morning - the Chuwi Hi12[^] - which has the 1.44GHz Cherry Trail processor insted of the 1.1 in the newer(?) Hi13.
And it's noticeably more sluggish than my desktop - which is about five or six years old, and wasn;t state-of-the-art when I bought it! Depends what you want to do with it, but VS2017 has a minimum spec that includes a 1.9GHz processor - though it runs on the WookieTab, albeit slow to load. So if you want to code on a Hi13, you might want to look elsewhere.
In short, the Hi12 is good - solid, well built, and I've only had one problem which I think it probably weight related: one of the keyboard connectors bent, and the (optional) keyboard doesn't connect too well any more. Chances are the Hi13 is even heavier, so you might want to think about "proper" keyboards rather than docking ones.
I also don't use the Android side (to be honest, it's difficult to use because most apps assume a much, much smaller screen so everything looks a bit "Special Needs Group" in Android. Works very nicely in Win10 though!
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Thanks, Paul,
I didn't remember that your Wookie was a Chuwi.
The tablet would be primarily for in-home in-bed reading of e-books, playing music, videos. Maybe occasional web-surfing over WiFi in some cafe-shop outside the house.
I'm having enough trouble with sluggard VS 2017 on a laptop with an i7, and 8 gigs of ram, right now (my main beast is getting upgraded).
While I like the idea of having a 3kx2k pixel screen, a big unknown for me would be how stuff would look on that screen blown-up by scaling to the point I could read it, comfortably, given I have one usable eye at present.
Probably an e-ink device would be a wiser choice.
I can order from Lazada without fear of the problems you went through ordering direct from China. If I were in Bangkok, I could probably find one to try out in the great den-of-thieves-digital, Maboonkhrong (aka MBK Center).
cheers, Bill

I think the weight may be against you: the Hi12 weighs in at 828g, and is uncomfortable to hold in one hand - plus reading in bed is a recipe for dropped tablets...
The Hi13 apparently weighs in just over the kilo: Chuwi Hi13 Review - Tablet PC Comparison[^] so you might want to see how easy it is to hold for bed reading.
But the display should be brilliant for reading, even at large magnification: you are talking about 266dpi which is better than all the e-ink devices I've seen.
Are you still waiting for your cataracts op?

It's a big lump of glass with a large battery, and a metal back - it's pretty solid, and yes, heavy!
But ... the battery lasts really well (I charge it a whole load less than my Nexus 7), and it is a lovely display!

Nearly $500 US for a tablet!! I think a cheap laptop even a chromebook would get you more bang for your buck.
