So yesterday I received my new very portable Short Wave radio (SWL, only). I was playing around and setting some of the 550 presets (like two or three per band, including the time signal).
A fair number of the national broadcasts are gone (my main interest)
Anyway - back to the story. The voices - so countrified (by design?)
- preaching their idea of the word of deity (and how all others will be damned in hell)
- right-wing politics, conspiracy theories, and anti-vaccination comments.
- proper interpretations of scientific data (and more coverups).
- New feature: everyone's got a website and email.
And everyone's selling stuff (prayer shawls, paid-casts, books, etc. A general testimony to the verification that the supply of morons is not only substantial but persistent, as well. I'm not sure how this fits in with Darwin, evolution, and survival of the fittest(maybe that's why they know Darwin's work is a fraud!).
There are AM (=MW) and FM radio bands, too . . . so it will be useful for quite some time.
Pretty much the same offerings as ever, minus some of the more useful broadcasts. These SW voices broadcast, and for all they know, they're talking to no one. The denial of reality now dominates the radio bands like never before. They must 'know something' - for one cannot be a successful con-man without knowing something.
One cannot help but keep coming back to the thought that these voices understand the pulse of the teaming herds and unwashed masses. Endlessly sowing distrust and fear.
Wherever you are, it is time for you to say: "It can happen here"

So ... basically what you're saying is "radio has become the same as TV but without the pictures"?
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Actually, the internet has become more like radio.
Lot's of fake news sent out by anyone who wants to send out anything.
A decent potential that no one is every going to look at whatever you do.
Dumbing down of the interfaces to keep the moron-pond well stocked.
Yup - social networking on the internet - just pixilated[^]* radio.
* This can be worked into a TOTD

A programming language is a tool; nothing more, nothing less.
But we have 'group-think insanity clubs' here that bash programming languages because it is 'the thing to do'... what's the difference?

In terms of process, very little. In terms of body-count, a hell of a lot.

You could hear a very distorted program coming from the huge modulation transformers.
