I bow to your vastly superior knowledge!
(I thought I was doing pretty well to remember the word "azeotropic" and the meaning was a bonus - though I had to google how to spell it - it's been 35 years since my last chemistry lessons!)

But still... How fast was he F****** GOING when he did that?!? 20 feet into a building?!
Drugs/Alcohol were most likely involved with this. I'd be surprised if they weren't!

If he went through glass windows/doors, I suspect that great velocity would be needed to go 20 feet. It also may depend on how soon he pressed the brake pedal. May be he panicked and took a moment to react.

I'm not sure how you concluded this, given that the police seem to have reported something different:
Officers say the vehicle went about 20 feet in and ended up on its side in the building’s front office space and conference room.
Having said that, it's impossible to say if brakes would have helped or not without knowing the details of what exactly happened.

I know you are Joe King. But did you know the top speed of a Prius is 118mph, so around twice the legal "Highway" speed in the US .

The tricky part is getting through the hard shell to the soft candy center....
Er..rather: once you're through the exterior wall everything else is usually easy (excepting a machining shop or bagged concrete warehouse).
