Not an official one, just a bit of a brain warmer exercise after the excess of the holiday season.

If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

When you indicate an anagram the letters must exist in the clue itself not as the result of a sub clue - you bad boy

That is absolutely awful. At least her mother did not have to suffer anymore. She must had been completely grief stricken.

I remember when a time in the 1970's when we had freezing rain (Northern Ontario, Canada); the school bus could only go to a certain point on the route and had to stop.
Past that point, there was steep hills and sharp curves.
The schools called parents to get their children at the new stopping point; it was less than 1/4 from my home, so not a big deal to me.
A family about a mile up the road sent their oldest son on ice skates; he picked up his siblings one a time, took them home, turned around to get the next one.
Other families sent snowmobiles to get kids; the snowmobiles continued until all kids had were home; they picked up whoever needed a ride.
The furthest distance from the stop to home for the kids was 5 miles.
The buses were able to pull into my Aunt's general store (across from the pick up point) and make a U-turn in the driveway to return to the bus depot.
I don't miss that weather...

No worries. Nowadays someone reports a snowflake, and all schools cancel their bus routes.

I grew up in the mid-south US where ice storms seem to happen every few years. After one in the early '70s my Dad attached a pair of blades to the bottom of an old pair of dress shoes and we learned to ice skate in the streets...I remember having to stop when my ankles started bleeding!
