I submitted my Christmas wish list to SWMBO today.
It's a short, but expensive list. I wanna put a 671 blower on my car. Approximate cost - $8700.
An alternative (also submitted) is new underwear.
I wonder which one she'll pick.

Rumpole, OTOH, reads a lot better than he looks.

You still running a V6?
A quick check shows those blowers for under 3K on eBay. I'm sure they com with an allen key and a single page of IKEA-style instructions for bolting that bad boy on.

No. If you keep up, you would recall a couple of years ago he removed his V6 and automatic and retro fitted a 70's (I think) era big block V8 and manual transmission.

Whale oil beef hooked - the last thing I would have thought of (well, yes, of course it was  ).
In a fit of desperation I moved the wife's laptop to close to the WiFi relay, and plugged in a network cable - and it worked just fine. It seems that for ordinary browsing, including streaming BBC World Service News, everything works just fine, but when it was asked to download a large file (usually a TV program or film) the network card goes slow, and finally goes on strike but I 'aint buying her a new laptop as I suspect this could be residual damage from when she spilled wing one it, that caost me a new keyboard. 
I have now installed a third WiFi thingy, relaying from the second one, close enough to the usual place my wife works from, and connected with a good ol' piece of wire.
I get to live another day!

Yup - has to be. I shall buy her a WiFi USB dongle, but there will definitely need to be a substantial quid pro quo.

I'd suggest that replacing the lappie might be a better move - clearly the wine went further than you thought, and there may be more damage in there waiting to express itself.
