If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

I always use a simple sentence/question to start with, when I am in a expat-party.
Wow... it has to be cool going back home, hasn't it? What is the first thing you are going to do once back at home?
With this... you let them pick the topic, they will speak a while and you only have to "aham, really?, no way..." from time to time.

Watch the movie! You will see that those were the simple problems to solve...

Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?

Tried Google, no clear path to what I'm seeking; same with Bing.
My Sharp AQUOS Crystal[^] (an Android phone) has a camera. I have been approximately astounded at the quality that thing can produce.
To further astonish me, they have included some fantastic photo editing software.
My problem: I can't find a software package which provides the same editing features which this phone provides. (i.e., something I can put on a desktop windows PC)
I am seeking a package which will...
- Change color to B/W (easy to find)
- Alter general contrast (easy to find)
- Provide the "graduated" function which my Android has (no can find)
That "graduated" function is a bright-to-dark software enhancement which is on a three line array with three dots, arranged within an "H" pattern. Sorry if that's a nebulous description; it's the best I can do to try to describe it in words.
If anyone has this phone, and understands what I'm trying to describe here, and knows where I can find a windows desktop photo editing package which has this function, I thank you for pointing me to it.
The various questions I asked Google led me to a lot related hits, but not the exact function I am trying to find.
