The WWII sub parked up on pier somethingorother is worth a visit. Go north on 1 to the Pelican Inn, near Stinsons beach, its a nice little resto-bar.
The aquarium is good, on pier somethingelse. The seals smell. Haight Ashbury is a joke. The gays are funny. The trams ridiculously long to queue for, dont bother. Lombard street is too, approach it from an angle, not direct. Nappa is worth a visit if you like wine.
Thats about it, didnt spend too long there really.

Fisherman's Wharf and China Town are both great places to eat and shop. Definitely "try" to drive down Lombard Street. Plan a night tour of Alcatraz island. Obviously visit Golden Gate Bridge and take a ride on the cable cars.
One thing to keep in mind - San Francisco is northern California (ie. not San Diego or Hollywood). It can get pretty damn cold.
Have fun!

I completely agree with the night visit to Alcatraz. Very good talks that don't happen during the day.

When you leave, try the chilli dogs at the airport. Best I ever had.

Just persuing the Visual Studio Live Event put on by 1105 Media (visual studio mag, etc):
Visual Studio Live! -- Live! 360 Events[^]
From the marketing materials...
Track Topics
1. Visual Studio / .NET Framework
2. Web Server
3. Web Client
4. Windows Client, including Windows 10/WinRT, and WPF
5. Software Practices
6. Application Lifecycle Management
7. Cloud Computing
8. Database and Analytics
9. Mobile Client
WinRT? They haven't spoken about that for a couple of years now really.
Also, the obviously missing piece from this is UWA / UWP* (Universal Windows Apps / Universtal Windows Platform).
*I know. But this is supposed to be the "new" way to create apps.
Edit
Here's an interesting article about WinRT vs UWP
WinRT is the elephant in the room at the Build conferenc[^]
And the pull line from that article because infoworld's site is terrible.
Will WinRT thrive in the guise of UWP, or are we looking at a repeat of the demises of Silverlight and ActiveX

If you click to get details, then it would mention Universal Windows apps and not WinRT...

Okay, I clicked your link and you are right about that. It is quite a terrible site though, isn't it?

What?
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?
The metaphorical solid rear-end expulsions have impacted the metaphorical motorized bladed rotating air movement mechanism.
Do questions with multiple question marks annoy you???
