A few weeks ago, Yahoo logins were leaked online. Since then, I've had multiple attempts on my Yahoo account. Granted, I haven't used it in years and the login info is outdated; however, I have logged in and changed my password along with the additional security protocols, but that hasn't deterred the hackers at all. I've gotten login attempts from Germany, France, and Russia. Today, I can welcome Brazil to the group. I think I need to get my Yahoo account a US passport.

Right now, you can toggle a bookmark on or off, and only navigate through ALL bookmarks.. That's it.
New Feature: Bookmark Tags
Create a bookmark with a specific tags attached to it.
Highlight a line, bookmark it, then right-click the bookmark and select "Tags". A small dialog opens which allows you to Add, Edit, or Remove tags to be associated with this bookmark.
This feature would allow you to specify one or more user defined tags that are associated with a bookmark. Then, on the Bookmark toolbar would be a combo of all defined tags. The user can then select a tag and navigate only to those bookmarks.
The Next, Previous, or Clear buttons on the Bookmark toolbar then operate ONLY on those bookmarks. A "Clear All" button would also bee needed.
What says you?

I'd say that would be an awesome feature, *if* those bookmarks and tags could be saved with the project so your whole team could use them. And then they could aggregate and have a viewer kinda like a table of contents of sorts.

Bookmarks are already saved with the project. But creating a 'scope' (Me, Team, etc) is a great idea.
Also, as you said, provide a view that shows a list of files with bookmarks in them including showing the tags.

As you said, it would stop the need for TODOs, which would be spiffy.

Ya now I'm thinking of creating an Extension for this.

You're on to something man. If you do, I'd most certainly want to use it.

Cool. Never done an extension before, have you?

Not for VS. There's a pretty elaborate SDK for it though.

Ha. I just noticed you can group them into folders too. Look at the upside, you just saved yourself some time.

Can't you kinda do this with the task list in Visual Studio?
|
|
|
|
|
Sure, if you want to put TODO's all over your code.
Right now I do this:
Then I can search for "TODO: KM" and get a list of all my tasks, but this new feature would make it part of a bookmark that isn't in the code files. Plus, add on scope, such as Mine, Team, etc, and it greatly enhances it.

In VS 2015 you can use the Bookmarks window and then rename your bookmarks as you like. I can't remember if it is in lower versions, but I am sure it is - too lazy to check right now.
I use this often.
You can create folders and add bookmarks to these folders, like "SecurityStuff", etc.
|
|
|
|
|
OK, i see the Bookmark Window. I see how to rename and create folders, but what does that do for you?
[Update]
I see, you can group them in folders, then use the Bookmark Window to move through bookmarks in that specific group.
Nice

I did not know this. I am going to have to start using bookmarks.

Post this at Microsoft; it isn't going to have any effect here. (I never use bookmarks, so don't care one way or the other.)
