I know a lot of coders who play instruments of one variety or another. There does seem to be quite an overlap there. Off the top of my head, I can think of a dozen or so people here who play guitar, for instance.

That's good to hear that. I would love to know them.

Indeed. I always thought it was compulsory to at least be able to bash out a three chorder on the guitar. If you didn't have at least that on your CV you could kiss your career goodbye!

I cannot think of any song where Quo only played 3 chords. They pretty much always play 6 chords. In some songs, they even get up to 8. That's a shout out to people who know that they played the 5th and 7th chords.

If you know chords like A-C-D-C, you'd be fine

Nah, I never learned guitar... I'm a trumpeter. Way out of practice, though.

Trumpet is a nice instrument. What did you play before? reggae?

Nah... Big band, marching band, jazz... Jazz is the most fun, but I never could figure out how to improv.

That's nice! Jazz is cool. It's just hard to play it with guitar. I just can't play it. I'm into blues

Really? I'm way out of practice on the cornet, too. It's been years since I played one, even though I did and do love it.

Years ago, I worked with a guy who admitted that, in his spare time, he made Raga. I was deeply impressed with his mastery of what is, let's face it, a deceptively complicated musical form, until it was pointed out that he had a speech impediment and what he was saying was that he made lager.

You're lucky to have worked with them. In our whole dev team, only 4 can.
