Thanks! I will definitely look that up and try it.

No thank you on the pink noise. I had to look this up and I had to listen to a few samples, and that kind of noise would make me commit suicide.

Try this one[^]. It's the 1 hour sample I created and use.

If your are into classical music, go to Pandora and there is a station: "Classical for Studying". I sometimes use it when I try to concentrate.

Can't you give him some of your music instead - that's way better...

My favorite, too.
Nice, Ravi! Do you ever collaborate with folks through the interwebs?
If you think 'goto' is evil, try writing an Assembly program without JMP.

Thanks.
A buddy and I play at open mic nights and record at my home studio. Haven't yet collaborated over the web but am definitely open to doing so!

That's very cool, Ravi. Listened to several. Got Slow Blues in A going now, sweet. It's not good though as it makes me want to leave my desk, go home and crank up the amp. Been too long since I have drenched myself in the warm river of tube distortion.

As a Pink Floyd fan, I should say that your piece Trying to be Gilmour[^] is really awesome. I like it, I like it... Thanks for sharing it.

Not quite true. Inserting a pair of these[^] into your ears will result in a larger reduction in perceived noise levels.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Nice! But how much do they cost?

obligatory commit strip[^]
On the headphone side of things.
For better noise cancellation, you need a closed back headphone; or an in-ear earphone.
I really like the Sennheiser Momentum series; I currently have the Sennheiser Momentum in-ear; which is good enough for me in an (small) open-plan office.
(edit)
If the noise in your office is really annoying, tell HR about it; so that there is a paper trail regarding work disturbances regarding noise; and maybe tell will add noise reduction doohickeys (acoustic panels on walls and ceiling...)
I'd rather be phishing!

The last question is exactly what I always ask. As far as I can see, it's ONLY management that can see the point of that...

I just noticed a nifty feature of the page. You can actually click-drag the strip sideways to get the next/previous strip.
