A troll is someone who looks for arguments and confrontation. That will be you then Mark.

A troll is someone who keeps on and on and on trying to prove that they're right, even thought they've proven themselves wrong.
Me, I just don't run away from a fight.
Until it gets too boring to bother with, of course. Can't you google some new "evidence" to "prove" that you knew what frappes are?

He gets special allowance because he is a fellow countryman of Maunders and possibly a personal friend. Maunder does on occasion have to remind him to control his language, but as in all things, the rules are not applied evenly.

We've had a beer twice and a coffee once. Not quite personal friends.

Spot on the money. Life's not always fair, people don't have to like it but that is what happens everywhere.

From Internet Book of Shadows: Real Old Time Religion, That[^]:
We will worship mighty Cthulhu
H. P. Lovecraft's big old hoodoo
(1930's fiction voodoo....)
But that's good enough for me!
Let us sing to Lord Cthuhlu
Don't let Lovecraft try to fool you
Or the Elder Gods WILL rule you
And that's good enough for me!
Of the Old Ones, none is vaster
Even Cthulhu's not his master
I refer to the unspeakable *
and that's good enough for me!
And for those who follow Cthulhu
We have really got a lulu:
Drop a bomb on Honolulu!
'Cause that's good enough for you!
We will worship Great Cthulhu,
We will worship Great Cthulhu,
And we'll feed him Mr. Sulu
'Cause that's good enough for me!
We will sacrifice to Yuggoth
We will sacrifice to Yuggoth
Burn a candle for Yog-Soggoth
And the Goat With a Thousand Young
Well it's good enough for *
He's a mighty kinky master
When you pray he goes much faster
And that's good enough for me!
Let's go worship Great Cthulhu,
And run naked like a Zulu,
You and me and Mr. Sulu,
And that's good enough for me!
* - well, do YOU want to say it?
(Sung to the tune of "Give Me That Old-Time Religion")
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

I hear every fogey say
Old blokes need something to help things not calm down
But the thing for you here, Bill
Is a little bluish pill
So go rushing helter-skelter
For the Woodruff's little helper
It'll help you on your way
To get your oats in one more day

I have got to apologise for the Flying Spaghetti Monster posting, I thought I was posting an amusing bit of news and did not consider the religious angle relevant. Actually I did not consider the religious angle at all!
And you are correct it should have been posted in the SB.

Bullshit. It was and still is a fine post. Some people taking the piss and enjoying life.
I didn't even click through as I basically knew what it was about. I did click through the responses as there is generally some good and funny responses to read.
Unfortunately the god botherers turned up, spoilt it for all and as always I couldn't walk away from stupid.

I'd disagree - it was a good and innocuous post. Funny as well.
It became SB material only when it was hijacked by Our Resident Troll.
You aren't responsible for what anyone else does with your thread - and if the troll hadn't been fed, it wouldn't have been a problem at all.

I think it's a fine post. In fact it gave me some ideas too. Solemnizing weddings is something we never thought of. I personally know some of the guys who created the Dinkoism spoof. I shall pass on this idea of petitioning a court to authorize our clergy to solemnize weddings. I would love to see the judge's face when the petition comes up for hearing. Thank you

Hi Mycroft,
I think the day we lot cannot discuss the divinity of the cookie-monster is the day we have lost some of our own divinity, and, possibly, some of our cookies.

I don't think that post needed to go into the SB.
I don't think it was in any manner offensive, there again as an atheist I would say that wouldn't I.

Huh. Well, I figured it was always because the rules were made to give them an unfair advantage, or that they realized that was the case to give someone else the advantage. That's how it seems to work here in USA for the corporate types. But then again, I've not been a fan of fascism. Guess I may need to warm up to it, both political parties seem to be moving away from democracy and towards fascism. Its either that or figure out how to escape the country and get somewhere safe. And by safe I mean where they don't tell you to give up your constitutional rights to gain safety that is merely a figment of their imagination.
