I don't see any mention of external links in the rules[^].
In fact, they encourage you to use anything, except binary.

Well you are right, but since the examples and the "characterlimit" referr to letters or symbols i guess pictures are kind of out the game, it's a gray zone though.
2ndly i'd say external links are always a little problem

It's not pictures. Yesterday's was pictures. It's simply an image of the characters as they appeared in my word processor but would not show here because I included a couple of characters from a dingbat font.

I'm not sure the Lounge would survive without external links. They're in just about every original post! It seems odd to object to them for this puzzle when no such objection is raised for everything else. The problem would go away entirely if we were allowed to post images (as in just about every other forum in the Universe) but the hamsters are dead set against it.

Okay in every part, i just gave my opinion about external links. And as already stated and verified, there is no rule against external links

NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise....
(Except everybody expected the Spanish Inquisition: they sent you an appointment 30 days in advance...)

On a serious note, it's probably time for a few clues, or you're going to be in the Hot Seat tomorrow as well, I suspect!

Sorry. Didn't realise anybody was actually trying. Hints will begin.

Just because the regulars are bickering, doesn't mean they are getting at you, or not trying! Bickering and insults are frequent events in the lounge and nobody means anything by it. If they did, I'd be up for several charges of murder, I suspect...
I have had a couple of looks at it, but I can't make head nor tail of it!

TR is a correct combination correctly repeated but both time in the wrong place, if that helps. Third hint now going in.

But what about my Mastermind points?

As you have no letters in correct positions I didn't think that would be as much help at this late stage but if you insist, you have 10 correct letters. 0B, 10W (unless it's the other way round - never can remember)

Information is always helpful.
If you get enough guesses, you can "walk your shots" to the right answer, even if you get no letters in the correct place initially.

... apparently not! I already said that TR was a correct combination and yet it doesn't appear in your new answer at all!

Oh, I thought that last one was the new poop emoticon, so I was thinking of a different Armstrong... one who ended up losing some medals. But then that didn't fit with the 70s and 80s.

I've just read Blackburn's statement[^] and, taken with the fact the BBC are not commenting at this time, there appear to be more questions arrising than are being answered.
I wonder if this is Hissing Sid all over again?

I wouldn't expect the Beeb to comment yet - the report it's based on isn't published for two weeks yet, and it would prejudice or defeat the purpose of the report to comment on it before people can read the document the comments would have to be based on!
Having said that, for them to take the extreme action to publically dump him two weeks before is ... um ... unusual, and implies that there is material in the report that they are trying to distance themselves from as fast as possible.
Odd way to behave in both cases...One side dumps the other, the the dumpee immediately starts legal action to get his job back before any information on why has been released.
Did TB punch the DG over a supper row or something?

I was listening on Radio4 this morning and they mentioned that the BBC has not commented yet... that's BBC Radio4

He's not the Messiah! He's a very naughty boy! Allegedly! Though to be honest it's damn near impossible to work out what he's actually supposed to have done.
