Thank you.
It took me nearly an hour to create it. So I'm not interested in doing it again too often.

Not yet, but soon...
I enrolled in gunsmithing school today, having retired from my engineering job under the thumb of an abusive a$$hat GM who was determined to fire me and install one of his former cronies. I can't afford to retire, actually, but I figure that whichever way the election goes, the market for gunsmiths is looking good. If Conservatives win, guns will be cheap and plentiful, and I'll have plenty of business. If the Communists Democrats win, I'll have even more work, maintaining and improving illegally banned weapons under the table. I can't lose...
Part of the course includes a machinist program, which is something I've always enjoyed but lacked the training to really master. I already have a nice mill, bandsaw, grinder, gas and MIG welders, and assorted other tools, and next week I plan to order a lathe to round out my collection. And if I want to pursue my first love - embedded programming - I can always grab some stepper motors and an Arduino developer kit, and convert my machines to numerical control.
Who says retirement is dull?

I salute you, I'm wondering if doing the same here in Italy but for now "ubi maior minor cessat", aka it would cost me more than I can afford.

That means you'll be able to make your own guns with starting with 80% receivers/frames. Luck bastard....

Yeah I know all you need is a drill press for a AR-style rifle, but still...

You need a more complete machine shop for stuff more fun than ARs.
I know someone who used his shop to build a hand cranked 'trigger' for a demiled M1919 machinegun. Under ATF rules it's still legally only a semi-auto; even though you can blow through a 100 round belt in as little as 15 seconds (vs 10 for the original model).
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Actually, I'll be able to make my own starting with a chunk of steel or aluminum.
The only thing that will be difficult is machining a rifle barrel, because the lathe I'm getting is a bit too short. I could probably turn the blank, but with a 22" distance between centers, boring the blank will be impossible.

That's okay - you want hammer-forged carbon-steel barrels anyway. a billet barrel won't be strong enough, plus, as you already stated, how would you machine the rifling?

As for the anti-Democratic epithet: perhaps the republiskins should remember that the Constitution has more than one amendment - and the 2nd is not the first thing that came to the minds of the founders.
So far as I can tell, from their very public rhetoric, the right is the side that wants to limit my civil rights, not the left. My Right-to-Choose vs. their religious dogma. They're all promising a theocracy - and we all know how well those work out.
Time to stop thinking with your trigger finger.

OK - you don't like either of the Democratic candidates. Fine.
But the circus of d!ckwads that are running against them is absurd. The mainstream offerings getting beaten down by hateful extremism? Why the hell not? The media (Fox News, and their cronies) have been preaching hate for years. Guess what: it "took"!*
There are 370 Million Americans - surely we can do better!
Whilst the Democrats debate issues and methods, the Republicans make pronouncements. Pronouncements without plans: what is easy . . . how . . . that's another thing.
Check the reality world, too: private servers, a pointless 'scandal' as the server was legal and the 'classified' documents were not classified when sent. to her. That's part of our constitution, by the way: you can't turn something into something illegal and the prosecute someone for it (it's referred to as Ex Post Facto.
But do what I did - a google search for who else in government had private email servers. Go ahead! Quite a few in that circus crowd are on the list - Jeb, for example. So - how can they condemn what they themselves have done - especially when not a single law was broken?
Oh - just as an aside - I own firearms, with multiple clips for quick reload. So, to me it's an issue of common sense - not a rejection of firearms. Just an acceptance that the firearms now available are magnificently deadly - and people's metalities haven't improved nearly as much as the weapons they can get hold of. So - I put aside my dreams of a Quad-50 on my Mazda, because my loss is, in the big scheme of things, not as big as how things would be if I were allowed to have it.

Nope - genuine Made-In-USA stuff.

No. The classified data existed on a secure network. It has to be PHYSICALLY TRANSFERRED to an unsecure network (which was done by her aides). The classification labels were INTENTIONALLY REMOVED (by her aides, and at her direction) before sending over the unsecure network. Furthermore, she specifically violated federal regulations regarding use of private email servers for work-related emails. I'll tell you something else, if anyone ELSE had done that - oh wait - someone did (cough, eric snowden, cough) - they'd be charged/prosecuted without a moment's hesitation. This amounts to un-equal treatment under the law.
Lastly, it doesn't matter WHO is elected, the American people will get screwed. The only thing that changes is who's got their federal dick in our collective asses. Anyone that says any different is a retard of the highest order.
