It's Star Trek, so, no, it won't be any good.
I've never been able to get on the Star Trek bandwagon. I watched some of it because so many people like it but I just can't do it.

Now I understand. So sad.
Decrease the belief in God, and you increase the numbers of those who wish to play at being God by being “society’s supervisors,” who deny the existence of divine standards, but are very serious about imposing their own standards on society.-Neal A. Maxwell

I love the look of the pizza cutter, but I'd never use it - you can't clean the cheese / tomato out from behind the wheel properly.
Useless, but pretty!

You just need to retro-fit a plasma-phase-cheese-inverter and you're good to go.

The series is being put together by the same people who came up with JJ-Trek, so the answer depends on how dumbed down you like your Star Trek to be.
You don't need to hang out on the hardcore Trek nerd sites for long to realize that the long-time fans are not looking forward to it, or the upcoming movie.
Also, it'll be stream-only. No subscription, no series.

I hope not!
The next chapter of the Star Trek franchise will also be distributed concurrently for television and multiple platforms around the world by CBS Studios International.
That does seem to imply it'll be available on regular TV channels, and won't require a subscription to CBS All Access.
If not, I suspect it'll quickly rival Game of Thrones for the most illegally-downloaded TV series.

Re-read the first paragraph, then the one you quoted, to put it back into proper context.
The first episode will air on TV. The rest of the series will be exclusive to their streaming service.

That's not what the sentence I quoted implies.
But as I said, if they do restrict it to their US-only streaming service, and don't let anyone outside of the US see it, then it will end up on a lot of illegal download sites.

CBS President has made a point of clarifying that the broadcast network is not involved[^] so it does look like the intention is to make it exclusive to the streaming service. The first nzb's will no doubt be hitting Usenet about 30 minutes afterward like they have for every other 'exclusive'.
I am not a number. I am a ... no, wait!

No doubt.
The Trek nerd sites have already debated this. It'll be streaming only, except for the first episode.

If that's really the case, then the producers are a bunch of idiots.

Well - hopefully they won't have another Mommy for a captain and endless "space anomolies". The most recent incarnation, with a weak earth and first-version Starship Enterprise was good stuff - but seeing how Dr. Who was brought low, anything can happen.

It might, but I think the Star Trek thing may be played out.
If they can come up with some original plots it will help.
