This is why I always use my real name online - as a reminder never to post anything that I would not want my employer/neighbours/friends to read.
I think that the possibility of this happening is an important moderator on the level of ranting/abuse. I would therefore vote against such an option. After all, we can only be judged by our posts, warts and all.
OTOH, I would not require everyone to use their "real" names because of possible repercussions in some countries.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

That's a good idea. I have the opposite problem. I often hit the Cancel button after I've written a rant about the retard brilliant person I have to work with. I need to create a "can't track back to me" account. Then again, just writing it seems therapeutic enough so that I have the wherewithal to actually Cancel the post.
But then I'll just forget to check who I'm signed is as and post the wrong thing on the wrong account.

I vote that you create another account just for your rants! You and JSOP have some of the best rants around. Not that your other posts are drivel but a good rant is most enjoyable - from the outside!

That sort of defeats the point of that list.
You can use the search page[^] to efficiently get a list of your own messages. The "List all messages" is actually for others to see what you've written. Either to follow your witty repartee or to spot the spammer / abuser.
So no - that option won't be added. Sorry.

Terry Callier - Ordinary Joe[^]
It's an oldie, a lot older than me anyway, but I've listened to Terry Callier quite a lot in the past.
This week I came across it again and put it in my playlist.
The result was me swinging and playbacking to some good old jazz in my chair at work
It made working a pleasure and I got a lot of work done
Deserved song of the week!

Great song - it reminded me so much of Rumer's song Am I forgiven[^] - without a doubt Rumer took the baseline from Ordinary Joe.

I have no idea what you're talking about...
Why would a song be Soapbox material?
|
|
|
|

I don't know why, but someone got something against Bruno and kept downvoting his posts no matter what he posted.

I have to agree with Sander - that isn't soapbox material. The song is innocuous, the video is KSS, I don't see a problem.

I've listened to a lot of black metal... I'm familiar with Scandinavian's musicians!
And then there's stuff like Vibrasphere, Björk, Trentemøller, Kate Havnevik, Emilíana Torrini...
And of course the many goth- and progmetal!
I've come across Zara Larsson before too, pretty good.
Yeah, Scandinavia is great

It doesn't matter how talented she is, she's still a product.

Nothing wrong with that.
The impact Status Quo has had on rock music cannot be overstated.
Just a pity they're tarnishing their legacy with mass producing "Best Of" records.

Zara Larsson. Another Ellie Goulding wannabe bound for the Eurovision Song Contest, I would have thought. But each to their own.

Because the heartless animatronic wetware/code chimeras of tomorrow need to be trained to know that "organic" is so far past its use-by date: [^].
Video of CHIP in action here: [^].
[^] Quote from ReadWrite.com article on various new gizmos at CES, describing the CHIP robot dog from WowWee:
The Canine Home Intelligent Pet (CHiP) by WowWee boasts an impressive array of infrared sensors to give it 360 vision and high speed Meccanum wheels, allowing it to move quickly in virtually any direction. It also comes with a special ball to play fetch with and a connected Smart Band that enables CHiP to act with intent. The Smart Band’s bluetooth technology tells CHiP when you’re around and gives you the power to positively reinforce good behavior with a Like button—just like with a real dog.
You can play with this cute robopup at Booth 80449.

Where's the "like" button on a real dog?
