Looks creepy. I want my robots to look like robots, thankyouverymuch. I'm OK with them acting and speaking as human as they want, just don't try to look the part. Gives me the willies.
Does that make me a botist?

I would think that it makes you a humanist
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

After having seen the picture of the both of them, I'd have to say: No, sorry, I jut got a headache...
It might disappear if they decide to invent a Debbie-bot, though...

Two words, Uncanny Valley[^].
Imagine waking up during the night with this thing leaning over you and it says, "I noticed you were having a bad dream, would like me to comfort you?" you scream and then you wake up from that dream with this thing leaning over you and it says, "I noticed you were having a bad dream..."
It was broke, so I fixed it.

I'd not recommend having a companion that could have rather strange bugs or 'features' - especially not with the amount of free alternatives. Do wait a couple of centuries until the technology has matured a little bit.

This is definitely for those guys who can't make it with real women. With Nadine, you can program it/her to your liking. Just learn to program or hire a programmer.
Kind of like a Stepford wife. The movie is rather strange.

Huh?
"Assoc Prof Gerald Seet from the School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering NTU, has spent the last three years developing EDGAR..."In future, a renowned educator giving lectures or classes to large groups of people in different locations at the same time could become commonplace. Or you could attend classes or business meetings all over the world using robot proxies, saving time and travel costs.""
I am thinking that perhaps the prof has been spending a bit too much time in the classroom (or lab?)
