I love Marmite. We grew up on it in South Africa. However, it is available here in the USA, but somewhat expensive since it is an import from the UK. But we still buy it regularly.

I buy it from Costco in the UK and bring it back: a catering pack costs less than the smallest jar you can get here. I get 2 - they usually last about a year.

Marmite is what the limp-wristed or those lacking in taste and culture sink.
Vegemite is hallowed by the Gods.
(but even I'm going to mumble an excuse and beg off chocolate and Vegemite)

Pa! Antipodeans have no idea what taste is! That powdery muck you call "vegemite" sounds like it was invented by a vegan - yeeeeuk!

The person who invented Vegemite's taste buds must have been shot off in the war...
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

Were you eating the Kiwi Marmite? I tried Vegemite - it was less strong (both in salt and meatyness) than Marmite. I'd assumed some marketing whizz had blended marmite with butter, before I found out it was a different product.
At least we can both laugh at the merkins I suppose - they spread it like jam and think it's disgusting, little knowing it is ambrosia extracted from the brewing gods when eaten correctly.

This story is 7 months old! The product was due for release in July. Was it released? Did anyone buy it?

With a title like that I refuse to open that link, there are some thing that are just too offensive. Besides Promite is the spread of choice!

yeah - its as bad as peanut butter & chocolate (dons flame-proof suit)
On the vegemite vs marmite vs promite wars : Years ago while cycling from Paris to Bruges, we did a brewery tour (as one does ) and the guide who had sussed out which nationalities were present said (to the effect of)
the sludge on the bottom of the vat is what we call marmite and sell to the Brits
the sludge on the top of the vat is what we call vegemite and sell to the Aussies
(and just then a toilet flushed) and the guide said 'and thats what we sell to the americans'
meh - whatever, different strokes, too religious (and care factor 0) about other people's rants

amazing!

I said "No I'm going to put it up in the Lounge, you pervert."

From what I hear, you actually get tinnitus.
But you have me stumped; on pines and needles - what's the answer?
