Why would anyone pay for WinRAR / WinZip when 7-Zip[^] is free?
I made the mistake of paying for a copy of WinZip 10 years ago. I've never paid to upgrade to a newer version, but I still get two or three spam messages from them every week.

The question is: do you hit the 'Donate' button on 7-Zip's site?
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

I have always donated to shareware/freeware applications I find useful, though usually I'd rather build my own if possible. As for paid applications, the only one I ever 'cracked' was InstallShield many years ago since they wouldn't allow for an upgrade from the Express version which we had just paid over $300 for. That version of IS is now a dozen years old, but still works.

None yet
Intend to pay for one in future, so that I can proudly answer to questions like this "Yes, I have PAID for for A software"

MENDICANT
We hear you struggle to repair MEND? I CAN'T! but I beg to differ
And a MENDICANT is a begger - what "to differ" is there for, I'm not sure.

I was going to go for REPUDIATE, but the anagram doesn't quite work and I think yours is better

I fear you're probably right (didn't occur to me to put MEND at the front so I didn't come anywhere near it!) I also don't get the 'differ' and it's not really a homophone either. Nobody pronounces it MEND AYE CANT, surely?

So, any confirmed solution/answer today or did I miss a message elsewhere?

This reminds of a saying: If a man says he will do something, he will do it, you don't have to remind him every six months.
So my guess is: The six (million) month man.
