Just for the record.. there are people on CP that haven't even had time to read the clue before you provided the answer. It is currently just past 7:30 AM on the East coast of the U.S.

That's a good point. Unfortunately for me the 8am England time is presently 8pm for me.
I could in future leave it going all night but would not be able to respond until the morning here because I will be

Had to do some research for that nice word (garroters).
I'm guessing it has something to do with killers (who kill painfully) becoming painkillers?
|
|

Not quite, methinks.
annoying (person or event) = pain
garrotters = killers
I'd have gone for ...
Annoyance by garroters in numbers
... or summat of t'ilk.

The rules all contradict each other.
He followed rule #2 so should get a +5.
The OP broke his own #7 rule

It was not correct, so no reason to upvote...
V. wrote: #7: KSS rule applies, however, quotes sometimes have borderline words, those will be masked by a * as much as possible.
How did I break it? By using the word "shagging"? That's a matter of opinion. Personally I teach my sons 2,5 and 5 which words mean what and why and when (not) use them. I would explain "to shag" in the same way as I would explain "to elaborate", "to be bored" or any other vocabulary
Which rules do you believe contradict?

I believe rule #7 contradicts rule #34.

deserves a longer reply than I have time to give. Contradict is maybe the wrong word, the post was originally longer and I edited it. The guy sort of got the answer after 40 or so minutes yet this was deemed to early. Some of your rules say upvotes for correct answers but some say not too early.

|
|

I upvote after 1 minute if it is correct and not deemed cheated, the guy was not correct, that's all.
For the upvote you need to be 100% correct. Also note #3 where I state an upvote could be countered, indicating I will always upvote a correct guess.
I'm usually pretty honest and consequent in this stuff.
Besides, it's just a game.

Exactly,
Don't see how somebody posting the correct solution early stops other people posting jokey comments.
