What if on a holiday I wouldn't want to cook and eat at a Fast Food? I couldn't, the Fast Food wouldn't get money.
Not only that but most supermarkets reamin open with reduced opening times, mostly because if everything should close on Sunday and holidays most of the people wouldn't be able to access to them - meaning there would be less revenues, less markets/restaurants.
Well, a nice punch to thos Capitalistic dastards? No, just a lot of unoccupied clerks, cooks, cleaning personnel and so on.

Possibly but then we'd have to cook for ourselves instead so how's that a holiday for us? And why stop at McDonalds and KFC? Why should their workers get the privilege but not Wendy's or Taco Bell or Pizza Hut? Or, come to that, nurses, police, fire services, coastguards, the navy, TV and radio, baseball players .... well, you get the idea!

I've been waiting years for Visual Studio on my Mac
This release looks reasonably basic, but I'm sure it'll improve. Times are a'changing!

Some of the commenters over at ArsTechnica have dug into it, and it's a bit underwhelming. Not to dissuade anyone from trying it out, and I applaud MS's movement in this direction, but when it comes right down to it, all they did was re-brand the atom editor[^].
(also, it's not a full-blown IDE. No compiler, no debugger. Just edits source files)

ArsTechnica have issued an update to their original article..
http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2015/04/29/microsofts-new-code-editor-is-built-on-googles-chromium/[^]
Whatever it's built on and in spite of it's limited functionality in its first release, I think it's a good thing that Microsoft at least appear to be taking an interest in supporting other platforms for development.
Looking at the changes in ASP.NET 5/MVC 6, we're only at the beginning

Me too. I have been doing some Python development for the raspi
https://github.com/joesox/raspiai/wiki[^]
My son and I have been developing in VS Community then copying the files onto the raspi, then using Geany[^] to do the fine tuning on the raspi itself.
Geany is great and lightweight, which is needed for the raspi, so I can't wait to go home and see if I can use MS Code instead.

Sorry for the delay in this posting - the auto spam detector didn't like it - but I do believe you are up tomorrow! If so, well done, I got nowhere!

If you're around on Monday, and don't need to be sober, a church visit[^] would be very worthwhile.

Are you going to be there then?
I think I will probably be at work in the morning, but I will see if I can get there in the afternoon. Use to go there all the time as a kid on Mayday.

Not for long - just from slightly before they open the tent until they kick us out in the evening.
We usually tend to congregate around the jazz group in the corner, mainly to drown out the noise of the Morris dancing outside.

In US we have that taken care of: Thanksgiving.
Probably the most popular holiday in the country (Although on a different day, they even have it in Canada).
Non-political and non-denominational, too, which is a big plus for any holiday, anywhere. Add to it a great deal of eating (traditionally home cooked fare).
Try it - you'll like it!
