BTW: I was searching for some reasonably KSS material to link to, and I came across THIS[^] (which is not quite as KSS as I had hoped for) - But it made me wonder:

As part of work benefits I received an iPad and an iPhone. Damn they take some getting use to as an Android user. Safe to say I don't like them. But hey, they are free and use the iPhone for Waze a lot in the car and the getting free 4G in Qatar is great for when out and about.
Anyway, when I got the device and got the wifi all set up etc. I logged into my existng iTunes account that I had in the UK on my home PC. I went to 'Music' and selected 'Not on the iPad' and then proceeded to click the 'Download' buttons for the ones I want onto my device, might as well take my purchased music with me offshore etc.
Great, all the music started to download for the clicked items.
Except 2 tracks. They just will not download for whatever reason. It shows me the download option, let's me try to download, but doesn't actually download.
Where can I find out why it won't download these 2 tracks??? Is it a licensing thing, location thing, or whatever, it should tell me somewhere!!!!!

MessageBox.Show("This is my signature: " + Environment.NewLine + signature);

What tracks are they? Are they particularly large downloads?
Often Apple devices don't download larger files over mobile networks (particularly large game downloads over a few hundred MB). You can click on them to download, but they'll only actually start downloading the files once you're on wifi.
Not sure if that's your problem? As you say, it may be that those tracks are prohibited in that region for one reason or another.

They are not big tracks, just a couple of Emili Sande ones. Trying to download over Wifi as well.
Whatever the reason, it must log an error code or message somewhere!

I hate to suggest this, but have you tried switching it off and then on again (or holding the power and home buttons down together for a reset)?

The device has been off and on many times, I have tried downloading these tracks a few times and the ipad has been off in between these attempts and also connected to different 3 wifi networks.

It could be any number of problems really.. what's the title of the track and album? I can have a check and see if it's still available here (in case it's been pulled by the publisher)..
[Edit] Looks like a few people have had similar problems, there are a lot of suggestions here - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5277219[^]
Someone did mention that you can contact Apple directly through iTunes (report a problem with a purchased item). That might be worth a try, if they respond quick enough?

Not sure what is causing the issue, but possible solution.
Do you have a PC or other such device you can log into iTunes with a sync your LOCAL library to what is presumably in the 'cloud'?
Then, plug your device into your PC and sync from there.

I'll give that a try once I get my shipment delivered and the computer unpacked and setup (I they haven't broken it in the container!).
Silent failing is poop......but I guess that why people thing they are wonderful devices, because they don't know their not working!

A great post. Thanks for sharing

About a week ago, I remember reading JSOP's post about responsive web design being a PITA. I have to add that responsive email design makes me want to change my profession.
Gmail strips out any style section or CSS so everything has to be inline. Outlook thinks we are still using IE8 or something equally archaic so doesn't support anything fluid and you have to use old school tables. Apple Mail doesn't support the max-width tag. Yahoo in their infinite wisdom treats media queries as word so you have to put a tag to tell them to ignore it. Apparently modern browsers now ignore conditional html entirely.
And of course the user wants a two column layout with a three column footer. And I don't have the ability to say "No, that is just silly."
The HTML document looks like some Frankenstein monster. It has a style section plus inline styles, conditional tables that get created if the person is using Outlook. Tables are no longer nested, they are rat's nested and some of the tables only being there some of the time makes it that much harder to keep an eye on what is happening.
And all of this being sent from a system that is stripping out some of my HTML or better yet replacing it with what it thinks is better.

Email was never supposed replace a web page. Most of those things done are done for security to A: stop email harvesting and B: to prevent injectable attacks and C: probably just to annoy us.
Just use minimal formatting, if they want a web experience, then toss in a link. Or just offer a plain text version. All you need is word wrap.
