Make sure you do it from an email address not used to anything else - and prepare to 'The Flood'...

Add a calendar control to your ASP.NET web form.
It's as easy as this:
<asp:Calendar ID="Calendar1" runat="server"></asp:Calendar>
The HTML it renders is appalling, atrocious, arduous, acrimomious
Hey, how did the CP editor render that? Weird!!!
The code looks like:
<table id="Calendar1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" title="Calendar" style="border-width:1px;border-style:solid;border-collapse:collapse;">
<tr><td colspan="7" style="background-color:Silver;"><table cellspacing="0" style="width:100%;border-collapse:collapse;">
<tr><td style="width:15%;"><a href="javascript:__doPostBack('Calendar1','V5538')" style="color:Black" title="Go to the previous month"><</a></td><td align="center" style="width:70%;">April 2015</td><td align="right" style="width:15%;"><a href="javascript:__doPostBack('Calendar1','V5599')" style="color:Black" title="Go to the next month">></a></td></tr>
</table></td></tr><tr><th align="center" abbr="Sunday" scope="col">Sun</th><th align="center" abbr="Monday" scope="col">Mon</th><th align="center" abbr="Tuesday" scope="col">Tue</th><th align="center" Hell's bells! And that puts a large nail in the coffin of any doubts I ever had as to completely dissing Web Forms forever.

Yes, isn't that generated code so ugly? It is terrible.
It looks like someone completely knew to web dev wrote it or something.
Just terrible in my opinion.

Not somebody new, but somebody who was told, "Ignore the HTML, nobody need ever see or work with it."

Yes, you are probably correct. "Ah, no one will see that anyways."

I've seen similar terrible HTML from reputable third party controls as well, like DevExpress. Even in their so-called MVC library, which was just a whitewash over old style web forms horrors.

Maybe this is the ultimate Litmus test.
Tens of thousands of developers blindly use (and write) this kind of stuff.
If you don't notice it, you are a special type of dev.
If you do, you are probably an Architect-type of Dev. Someone who actually thinks about what is behind the code you are writing/supporting/working with.
Nice to meet you. You are the type of dev I would want to work with.

Now you've done it... You've busted up CP!
You're lucky my report button is gone (although my reply button is gone which didn't stop me from replying either)!

Just got this great movie quote on IMDb.
Was trying to load a page and apparently something went wrong.
I got a page that said the following:
"You can't handle the page!" - A Few Good Men
I wish something would go wrong more often (I'm curious what else they got)!
|
|
|
|
|
The Windows version is: "I can't handle that error!"

Found this remark interesting:
Quote
New light? The beauty of Hubble is actually seeing some of the oldest light in the Universe.
Unquote
Does this imply that the "Hubble-equivalent" created by them aliens, several billion light years away - may not even spot our Earth? Since it did not simply exist.

Now, now.
I know that astronomy is so imprecise that it shouldn't really be called science, but that doesn't excuse being equally imprecise with facts that can be confirmed -- i.e. birthdays.
It's the birthday of the "Space Telescope". I very much doubt that Edwin Hubble's birthday falls on the same day.

Touche. You should be able to read my mind though -- I clearly said "Happy Birthday Hubble Space Telescope" even though I didn't write it.
At least, that's what my gf keeps telling me, about reading her mind.
