I'm going to have to consult the handbook, but I'm pretty sure that's against office policy.

This discussion could be entitled Dealing with people. I understand that you have less patience now that you are cutting weight. But there shouldn't be a lot of patience for that kind of behaviour in any situation.

You are obviously dealing with a NullReferenceException. What you need to do in this particular situation, is "don't" trap the error, and let it bubble up to the top of the stack, where it will be handled by your boss.
That is what bosses are for.

Try to find the bright side: if he pushes you much further, it'll save you some wear and tear on your punching bag.

Ah, i see...
But remember, once your boss recognizes where the problem is seated, you might lose a lot more weight than by diet

I'd leave not-so-subtle clues about your extra-work activities. Maybe he'll understand whom is talking to, and that it is not a good idea to behave as he does.

Use his own technique against him. Don't finish his item, but do finish yours. At the end of the day YOUR list will be cleared, but HIS list won't. When confronted about it act all surprised "I didn't know you wanted me to do it, I must've heard/understood you wrong. Man, so sorry about that!"
And if all else fails, just ask yourself... What would Wally do?[^]

I mistakenly started reading the article because I thought the title was:
Dealing with people while cutting wind
But, even though my dreams were dashed, I still think you've grounds, at the least, for assault. Justifiable homicide is trickier, unless, of course, you can take this fight to Florida.

Ah, bad team player, you need to work on the emotional intelligence and soft skills.
Because, you know, as the prevailing opinion here and elsewhere is that they are more important than doing the work you are supposed to do

I am considering not doing the item. Mabye going home early. I'm not feeling well now or something.
I think you already have the solution.
Finish up your last item so your list is done and then get a splitting headache and go home.
Tomorrow your work will be complete and his will not unless he gets it done by when it is due.
His problem, not yours.

Does Stack Overflow have a Kick-boxer or a cage fighter or something? We could pity you against him.
