Lol, I don't even use Facebook anymore. I kinda got sick of people equating facebook = friendship. I think I'd rather put it on Twitter maybe.

Yep lol. It's a little disheartening.

haha they must be expecting 2 cents payment via debit or cheque and not in cash.
But looks like you wasted lot of time arguing with them over the phone. Was it worth it?
|

Well, it's never really "worth it", but mostly only because most people here just don't give a damn about doing their job properly anymore. They don't care about what is right. They don't care about morals, or their customers. They only care about themselves and "what the system says".
This country depresses me.

yes! That is so true. People don't want to use their brains and just obey the system like they are some robots.
Anyway it will be good if you share the letter with all. If nothing else it will be good laugh.

Send them a bill for accounting services at AUD25 per hour.
Over the six months you must have spent 4 hours on the telephone so make the bill for AUD100.
Then start sending overdue notices.
Once you lose your pride the rest is easy.

Now there's an idea! Lol. I totally would've seriously considered that at the time. I think it's a bit late now though. Approx. 12 years too late. Lol

I had very similar experience with a telecommunications carrier who couldn't get it sorted over the course of nine months. Among other stupid things, they kept sending me invoices even though they never even activated my account. After countless calls and several tries they finally managed to cancel the invoices, at least with respect to charging fees. But they still sent an invoice over 0.00, and then added a fee of 2.00 for postage
I'm still waiting for the reimbursement of the sim card they sent me (without ever unlocking it), and the compensation for my efforts they promised in letter. But I gave up on that one: it won't make up for the damage to my mental health if I need to contact their incompetent hotline again.

Take a 5 cent coin to the office and demand that they give you the difference?

Lol, that thought did cross my mind, but I think I was a bit too angry at the time to be that playful. Looking back at it now though, I would've had fun doing that!

When I ditched Time Warner Cable (Verizon FIOS is so much better), they sent me a bill for $0... I didn't pay it, of course...
Kinda hoped they'd start complaining about non-payment, just so I could get a good laugh. But alas, their system wasn't quite that stupid.

It's amazing how many people have had problems like this. It's 2015 already, can't people count yet?
I have no idea how their systems are made, but shouldn't something like if(outstandingBalance > f0.01) { SendBill(customer); } prevent this kind of thing happening? It just seems like such a simple problem, so simple that it couldn't possibly happen - but it does, so much.

|
|

If they'd be smart, they'd make it even if(outstandingBalance > postageFee) { SendBill(customer); }

Actually I recall one instance of an invoice that specifically stated they didn't want the money because it was less than 1.00. But that was a one-time experience and I don't expect that to ever happen again: over the past years charges were raised for pretty much anything that used to be free of charge, such as using a cash point to retrieve your own money.

In defense of Verizon I must confess the invoice did state "No payment due at this time". However, I do not understand why they sent it in the first place - after I paid the regular monthly invoice. And for such a strange amount. But I like Verizon, their customer service is reasonable (not great but reasonable) and they have not given me much to complain about in the past.

How much did Verizon spend for this invoice?
If it was an email invoice, perhaps free.
If a postal delivery, they spent a non-zero positive amount to get back zero dollars.

Maybe it was an email invoice with an ad that produced a bit of revenue and Verizon deducted (part of) that revenue from the invoice, causing the -0?

It was an email invoice with no ads attached. It just does not make much sense!

In many apps, -0 means "unlimited".

I wish I got more invoices of minus zero... You certainly wouldn't see me complaining in the lounge!
Edit:
Come to think of it, I'd also settle for minus zero invoices!

I am not complaining. As stated earlier, I like Verizon. I just think their computers are behaving in a somewhat strange fashion.
