Congratulations...
(first thing to change - move your start time after 9!)
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

My problem is usually the other way around. I want to start at 5:00, but will they let me? Noooooo...
Hopefully my new place (in 2 weeks) won't stick to their 8:00 rule for too long.
My plan is to live forever ... so far so good

This time from me, due to a small misconception:
"We have a T-Rex!"
Ok, I will get my hat...
And please: It's not 'One bite of Paris'!

This is Javascript. If you put big wheels and a racing stripe on a golf cart, it's still a f***ing golf cart.

"You mean like from space?"
"No, from Canada."

How do you know so much about swallows? Well, you have to know these things when you're a king, you know.

I'm covered with fine white dust after working on my S-61 Seaking helicopter fuselage. Due to my extensive use of sandpaper, it also is covered with this white powder: Look here[^] and here.[^].
In the background you can also see the T-Rex I'm preparing and the five blade rotor head which I'm going to install after everything else has been set up.
This is not like building some good old plastic model. You have to add ebery little detail yourself. The masks for the windows, for example, are printed on normal paper and attached with normal scotch tape. They will be replaced with real masking tape, but first I will have to redesign and try them out until they fit perfectly. This set actually seems to fit quite well already.
Soon I will be done with cutting holes for all kinds of details and with sanding the surfaces. Then I will get my best oppotunity to mess everything up. Do you see that line that comes down from the hole for the main rotor and the swashplate and then runs horizontally toeards the cockpit?
That's the line where I will have to cut the fuselage apart. The front part will then be removable to allow installing the T-Rex inside the fuselage and to change the flight battery. Does anybody have an idea how I get a nice straight cut and not something uneven?

Better not. You know how it ends. It's only this little guy.[^] Who knows how somebody in China came up with this name.

Mount a dremel tool or router in vice, then clamp a 2x4 as a guide jig.
Then of course if you have table saws and higher end equipment those would be better.

Nice. Be sure to post the final pics, if you do finish the project.

Working on my take over the world project in earnest now!
And going to do the web site of it as well soon...
Was wondering about hosting on Azure?
(any other suggestion? I like the automatic publish from VS though! )
Is the or shared hosting having acceptable performance?
I might be the only user for a while....
And it's not very clear, do I have a database with the free / shared option?

I felt azure is expensive.
I have just tried a cloud vs from OVH and it is pretty good. [^]. Am thinking of moving my vs from 1and1 which is lower spec and higher price.

Yeah I though Azure might be a little expensive too!...
Thanks for the tip, having a look!

We have a dev/qa and production environment (VMs), 2 instances of azure blob storage, 2 instances of sql server. Each VM has 1 MVC app running and 1 webapi app running on each.
We're still in development / beta phase - and have expired our incubation period. Got a bill the other day - approx 500 for 1 month. Pretty high if you ask me. And everything is metered .... everything - including what is going up and down on the wire, cpu usage, you name it.
On the other hand - we have a site on Arvixe - it runs us at about 130 per year - and have unlimited storage, SQL server, IIS, etc....
If you know what you're doing with a web server and db server ... best to avoid the "popular" cloud services if you ask me.

I have a web site on Arvixe.
I don't use it much at all... But the few times I do, I always find it's a little slow!
(I have the PersonalASP for $8/month, that might be why...)
Do you find it satisfactory for your commercial site?
Which plan do you use?

Well - my site itself is Personal Class Asp.net - but I have 1 client that is using their Business Class Asp.net.
Since shared hosting is in place - some servers (web and/or db) may be slower some of the time due to others sharing the same server.
This one is on personal class: renepilon.com
Mind you - this site was not really built for mass public consumption per se - I created that site to keep developing web app(s) when I left RIM. To me - it was a big toy box to try out different things et al - which resulted in clients finding me. The back end has a lot more than what is publicly visible (back office). I will be the first to admit that the site could be optimized much more vis a vis what comes down the wire - but ... you know how it goes - clients end up taking your time where your projects can be sidelined for some periods of time.
I have noticed at times that it can be a bit slow due to quite a bit going on on those shared servers but overall I'm happy with what I have.
As far as a business site - you should be looking at their Business class. I have a client on that pkg - and it is faster.
I am using the full Kendo UI and a few other js/jquery libs also but do use minification et al.

Cool!
I might have to give a closer look!
And maybe upgrade to business when it got close to completion!...
Thanks!

Another thing about Arvixe - their service level is A1.

A1?!
with '1' I guess it means good, right?
