Absolutely. I was so glad my missus had those tissues on her as I got something stuck in my eye *cough*

From 4.4 - took what seemed forever!
In truth, about 1/2 an hour, but it seemed longer...
And boy was it different! Slow, laggy, and pretty much unusable...
It seems to have "bedded in" and got faster, so some things seem quicker then they were, and some slower. App loading for example doesn't feel as snappy as it was, and a simple FreeCell clone is less responsive. Pressing the "Home" button is also very slow to respond.
The new "back, home, apps" button icons at the bottom of the screen make it look like a PlayStation controller with the "X" button missing...
I'm not sure I like the new single swipe down menu that replaces the older two menus, it's longer to get to some things like the WiFi enable, but I can see why they have done it - it should be more consistent with the phone when that updates as well.
Why did you take my email so away, you annoying people? If I'd liked the GMail app, I'd have used it already!
On balance? I think it works, but it's early days, and at least it did speed up from the initial "oh my god, it's elephanted!" it started with!

I recently decided to update my Galaxy Tab, mainly for the heck of it. After a few hours (I'm not sure it's actually done yet even after a few days) I definitely regret the decision. It's a slow laggy POC now. Keyboard entry has a noticeable 1/2 second delay (or more), etc.etc.etc.

Have you tried disabling "Google Now"? I found that helped with V4.4

Huh. I'll try that. Don't even know what Google Now is, so I guess I'll have to Google, now.

It's the info that appears when you swipe up from the bottom of the screen. It's a bit of a hog, apparently.
Go to the apps drawer, and run "Google Settings", find "Search and Now", "Now Cards", and turn "Show Cards" off.
It may help.

I am still on 4.4.4 and getting this kind of situation.
It's quite terrible and basically unusable.
I wrote an app which kills all processes on my device with one button click. It helps, but also hurts, because it does kill everything, but then some services have to come back so you are waiting either way.

Thanks so much for mentioning this.
I have a Nexus 7 also. Recently it has powered itself off / crashed for reasons unknown.
It did this last night.
I have very little installed but there is some process (Google service of some kind maybe) which eats processor all day long and eats the battery power. It's so CPU intensive that when I hit the power button to wake the device at times it takes 2-3 seconds before it comes back to me.
I'm hoping that the new release fixes this, but I'm scared it'll just make things worse.

My son's Nexus 7 has become super slow and unusable since the last update. Not sure what to do about it.

IE still rules a not-so-small part of the corporate world. A number of intranet software packages don't run on anything other than IE. Likely to take a looong time for them to move on.

More likely that they won't move on until IE is dead

Cool down! Microsoft is on the way to kill IE...
...or at least rename it
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

Right, my thoughts on that are:
If they don't fix it, renaming it won't matter.
If they do fix it, why rename it?
