It's only "too complicated" when they compare the procedure with getting you to do it for them.
This is where you start charging money for your time (what a concept)...

That will be my next OS, having completely skipped the 8 experience, with the exception of a test rig and my phone. The phone actually just updated to 8.1 a couple of days ago, and so far I like it...my phone now calls me Master! (cortana)...haven't actually thought of a good use for it yet.

I dodged a similar bullet like this: The family all use Apple products. I and my grandson are the only two on Windows machines (because I gave him a laptop.) I meet any request for help with: "Sorry, I know less about your Apple than you do."
My grandson is the only one that I assist (lovingly).

I'm glad now these days that being the baby of 5 (which equals good for nothin) that my siblings can't bring themselves to ask little Ronnie (53 now) about this stuff.
My customer base 5 days a week is enough.

I had to help my 13 year old nephew setup an iCloud account on his iPad, and my elderly parents do the same on theirs.
I feel very old all of a sudden saying this (I'm 25) but these kids today, they've completely skipped the PC generation where you had to build your own computer, install your own OS, experiment with different OS' etc and jumped straight to tablets/smartphones where you take it out of the box and it just works.
We've somehow gone backwards!

I know that all too much. Luckily my brothers, one older and one younger are fairly proficient. I class us as older brother is hardware, I do software/gadgets and younger brother is easier for my parents to get to do things as he still lives with them.
I have long held a policy of family I can't escape helping, if I charge them, I would have retrospective bills for 20 years of childcare/rent etc haha.
I think the worst I had was helping my grandmother's neighbour over the phone with her printer and iPad. Not owning the printer, I was very much going in blind (N)
Friends either owe me money or owe me a pint. I was working in Support for 2 years and could charge £85+VAT p/h for my time, when I point that out to them a £3.20 pint isn't expensive.

Spoon boy: Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth.
Neo: What truth?
Spoon boy: There is no spoon.
Neo: There is no spoon?
Spoon boy: Then you'll see, that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

Use to be you could listen to the Minecraft soundtrack on Youtube while doing your work. It was great work music.
Now, it's mostly remix crap. The bad guys posting a mix of rap and 80's electronica, that is rewiring my brain like a bad Outer Limits episode.
Guess I better buy the real sound track now.... oh my, it worked....

One word: Spotify!
Worth every penny (if you pay you don't have to listen to their stupid ads), and they have some great playlists. I particularly enjoy the deep focus stuff.

Have been looking at the various snow pictures in the 'papers' and I really must be seeing things......
Picture 18 (of 19)2 at http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/uk-weather-travel-live-updates-4879760[^] says "A lorry has been abandoned on Mapperley Rise Nottingham", I am maybe mistaken, but I'm pretty sure I can see the driver still sat in his drivers seat...
Edit: They have added more picture and the number changed.

That's his ghost.
He has been stranded in the middle of no-where for so long, and in such deep snow that he died of lack of Yorkie Bars after ten or eleven minutes...
That's not heavy snow! That's just a light sprinkling...I've ridden motorcycles in much, much worse than that.

I know, the media make such a scene out of everything now. I wonder how things would be if we got some of that 'lake effect' 6 foot of snow in 24hours!
