Which remind me that I have a MSDN subscription - so checked. I was wrong - there is 2015 preview ISO, but no 2013 Community at all...I was just an idiot not to think about it...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

I am getting desperate - so if this post is too far OT , my apology.
I have successfully downloaded and unzipped Code:Blocks for Arduino.
Call me stupid - <b>but I cannot figure out HOW to actually install it!</b>
There is no Setup.exe or anything anywhere on web on how to install it, nada.
I got regular C:B running but cannot find "Arduino plug-in" for that either.
On top of all that - two Code:Blocks forums do not return my registration, so I cannot post this to them, bummer!
Please help frustrated OF.
Thanks
Cheers Vaclav

I think your confusion might be because the file downloads as a '7-Zip' archive instead of a plain old Zip...you need to download the utility at http://www.7-zip.org/[^] to extract the files out of the 'CodeBlocks-Arduino-20140626.7z' archive.
Simply extract that file to a folder and you can double-click the 'codeblocks.exe' file to run it...no Windows installer provided.

One other thing...if you're looking for alternatives to the Arduino IDE, you could try Visual Micro[^].

If you're going to be working with Arduino I would recommend Atmel Studio 6.2[^].

Thanks, I just did not want to dwell on this , but since you mentioned it
a. I cannot get VS 6.2 to keep my XP from crashing. I have been round with ATmel, VisualMICro and Wholetomato and still cannot find what is wrong with my setup. The last was reported by Windoze that i have something wrong with my video card. I have no other problems with my PC.
I just given up on this to ever run (again) on my current PC.
b.I do not know how to use VM by itself. I do not have ANY recent MS VC software.
c. I did load the funky zip file and there is no codeblocks.exe there.
I'll try the archive next .

I've not tried to run the newest Atmel Studio on XP so have not idea if it will work. If you can't get any of the IDE's to work on your machine you might have to do it the old fashion way with editor (Notepad++[^] is a good one) and gcc or equivalent compiler and invoke from command line.

Guess what - it is called ArduinoBuilder and my first impression is bad - there is no "Serial port" to click on - per instructions.
And the main window does not have Maximize button enabled.
But it will not do ARM / Due , so...
Thanks for getting me there, I really need to fix my crasher and use Atmel Visual Studio.
Thanks

Got an update email through with the usual what is happening on the companies I follow and the one for the position above was quite amusing;

That's a bit weird isn't it - categorising a best place to live according to profession? Makes me wonder what the best place to live is for Bee keepers, paramedics and window cleaners.

Well, if you're an Oil and Gas worker, I would imagine that a city that has no connection to the industry whatsoever, would rank poorly.

Maybe the opposite? As an Oil and Gas worker, maybe when you're on land you want to be as far as possible from anywhere that reminds you of a rig.
