I always keep a little cash on me and prefer cash but use debit quite a bit these days.

I don't own a credit-card, only a debit-card. Dinner is always paid in cash, as is the tip.

Credit card ONLY. For many years now. We don't ever carry a balance, so we never pay any interest. As others have said, this is for the rewards. We have an airline credit card, and as such, we have accumulated (and used) enough miles for many free roundtrip tickets here within the US. We have also used them occasionally for upgrades to first class.
We are saving them now for first class both ways to Australia.
The other advantage of credit over debit is that debit is not protected against fraud by law. Most banks here do have protections, but it isn't required and your bank can change that on a whim. So, you could end up having your checking account drained before you know it, and then you have a mess on your hands.
I rarely have cash anymore for anything. If I do, it is because of very unusual circumstances and I usually will go to the bank and deposit it.

I refuse to even accept a Debit Card (that credit-card like item that directly targets your bank account) although I do have an ATM card (to withdraw cash at such occasions as I need it). I even closed all of my accounts with a bank and moved on to a more cooperative one when they wouldn't give me an ATM card that wasn't also a Debit Card.
I only use cash for very small purchase, like ca. $1 US, or less.
Credit Cards are definitely the way to go - so long as you follow the rule of never carrying a balance.
I have found that when there's a problem that the companies are much more aggressive in retentiving their own money (Credit Card) that retrieving you money (Debit Card).

That is the caveat, I guess.

I pay with credit for everything, but never my own. When I see the little terminal on the counter reads out, "Swipe card" I take it literally and run with whatever card is ahead of me in line. Some people object to this for some reason, but so far none has been able to outrun me.

Credit cards, specifically Visa/MC have a hard loss limit for the consumer of $50. That is a legal limit and cannot be adjusted upward by the issuer. They can however lower it.
Your debit card has no such limit and your liability for loss is at the discretion of the bank that issued the card.
Credit cards also allow charge disputes of which the merchant is required to prove the transaction. I believe this is however limited to 50 miles but I doubt any card issuer would even take that into account. I don't believe that there is any such assurances with debit cards.

I have actually learned a lot more about the benefits of credit cards versus check/debit cards. I will be looking into this more.
Thanks.

Mrs. wife and I pay for pretty much everything by credit card, and pay off the full amount every month, so no interest paid.
That allows us to keep more money in the bank/mortgage so reducing the interest, earns a few $ in points on the card, and saves having to carry cash or find ATMs to get it out.
It also allows us to track spending from the CC statement
Of course, we're disciplined enough to not spend what we don't have - I know my Sister-In-Law just spends on the CC like its free money and ends up paying whopping interest all the time when they can't pay it off, so there's a danger in that.
One caveat also, I never use the CC in places that charge extra for doing so - for those I use the debit card.

Having bathed in kerosene, I do not think it tastes all that good.
By bathed, I mean covered with kerosene from the vent pipe being blocked while putting 40 gallons (US) per minute into a storage tank.

I'd still prefer it to a gin bath.
