Dunno where you should go but can I have your house when you do? Returning South after 10 years in Scotland is still the dumbest thing I've ever done. Only staying here if there's a Yes vote could possibly eclipse it!

Really! Where?
I thought there wasn't an API.

Did you know M$ One Drive is running by default and it is installed without even asking you about anything and you cannot disable or uninstall it unless you dig deep into the registry??
I think M$ is reaching a critical point of harassment, no wonder people are switching to Apple.

I run a pc repair shop by day.
People don't know what's running. - Sadly.

I run two Windows 8.x boxes...when I change the desktop wallpaper on one, the other also changes

I promise myself... that this is like IE, paint and other software that they include in their OS...
No problem for me...

Windows is running by default too! A very nasty virus according to some!
In other news I did NOT use a Microsoft account to setup my PC, just local account, no password, boot to desktop directly too!
Sadly I can't get OneDrive to work (it requires to log in with MS account) and I have to use the Web interface, how annoying!

Strange that.........I feel the same about Apple and their fanbois.....
in fact it is almost at the same level as the delusional 'Yes' voters.

Welcome to the real world of the Corporate Occupied Technosphere.
If you think Apple is any different in terms of "doing things you don't know about," you have many surprises coming.

One Drive is connected to your Microsoft account (much like Google Drive to your Google account, or iTunes to your Apple account and so on...). If you do not wish to use it do not use your Microsoft account to login to Windows (Ar even better not to use Windows 8.x)...

What? You have to buy int s now? Guess I'll switch over to floating point numbers before Apple sues me.
What is this talk of release? I do not release software. My software escapes leaving a bloody trail of designers and quality assurance people in its wake.

And this is the most intrusive piece of Virus-Ware of all!!!!
I only refer to iTunes as The iTunes Virus.
It's a terrible resource hog, cpu killer, memory eater and runs some other services to make sure it is updated and yakety yak yak blather more ad infinitum.
Please refer to iTunes as The iTunes Virus for now on.

Like who?
Working in a company which recruits people from research institutions I see many people joining the company from academia, every single one of them brings their Apple laptop with them and we have to tell them that they cannot use Apple laptops.
Why? Because we have no control of their personal hardware and there appears to be a connection between Apple devices and our Exchange server going wobbly every so often.
I say there appears to be because we cannot connect to and administer the devices via our management tools, however whenever certain people connect their Apple devices things go to pot on the servers.
Where I work we have found Apple computers to not be good enterprise solutions.

How are Apple and Google not more invasive?
People want tight integration without needing to think about it. These days that means not even having to deal with enabling a single service. When Apple automatically enables a service like this they are praised for being forward thinking and easy-to-use; when Microsoft does it they are the enemy.
Frankly getting a little sick of seeing the M$ reference to Microsoft as well. Have people not read about the stock prices and cash coffers of Apple, not to mention the premium they charge (and people continue to pay) for their products? Heck, Apple PRIDES itself on charging a premium and this is how they keep their investors happy - this is not opinion, but well documented fact.
I'm not a Microsoft fan-boy, but I will defend anyone when I see ridiculous double-standards at play.

Please do not cross-post messages. You asked this question in the C# Forum, which is an appropriate place. The Lounge is (for most) not an appropriate place for specific technical questions.
