You're charged for the EMC hardware or the space on it? My team is charged that for the disk space, not the hardware.

Sometimes, it's hard to understand corporate economy. Wanted some work from my nephew, who was promised $5K upon delivery of software he would write. They paid $60k for the equipment that my nephew used to create the software. They refused to give him the $5K promised. He refused to return the equipment until he was paid. He's heading to Ca. with a very nice set of equipment. He's happy with them not giving the money still due him.

That's one hell of a zit. Be interesting to see what they find out about it.

There's a pill for that.
You'll never get very far if all you do is follow instructions.

Hi all. I've used Acronis and Norton Ghost in the past. Unfortunately Win7 has made my current software obsolete. What I'm looking for a cost effective piece of software that can image hard drives remotely while the computer is running. I will be imaging Win7, XP, and Win Server 2003 machines. It does not need to do automatic incremental updates, but if the price is right, I'd consider it Thanks in advance.

Sorry, should have reread your post. You wanted remote. I don't think xxclone does remote. Sorry for the oops.
I really like xxclone[^]. There is a free and a paid version, I haven't used anything but the free one. It has worked wonderfully for me.

Still looks like it has a couple of features that might be useful.

Remove the drive from the computer, prop it up against something, and snap a picture of it with a digital camera. Result - an image of a hard drive.

You can stand a newspaper next to it, to confirm the snapshot date -- and that it's still healthy on that date.

You forgot about this part

I'll have to rig something up inside the case.

Incredible. This is yesterday's image as today's isn't all that and I forgot to look yesterday.
