Leslie already mentioned something like this. I don't agree because i don't find trucks very interesting, no matter how they smell. Flying is much better, especially all aircraft that don't need a runway.

When I see something saucer shaped land, I will go inside as soon as they open the door and before they ever have a chance to get out. Then I will tell them that I have acid as blood, will lay some eggs in them or similar stuff to make them leave at once, take me with them and never come back.
Until then I will have to stick to rotors and mostly models. That reminds me. I wanted to book a helicopter and a flight instructor.

The books are a little slow - but by gawd they race along compared with some of his others! The Silmarillion for example takes tedious to new levels...
And it's a good story: the films help it along by using the spectacular NZ scenery as a backdrop.
