I've gotten frustrated by growing memory reqs for web sites and Mozilla's lack of a 64bit build on Windows. I'm considering a running a 3rd party build[^] of FF that does support Win64. I'm a bit concerned about how well Flash will behave though; a few years ago there was a lot of noise about the fact taht Flash64 was buggy as hell on Windows; since then it's quieted down a lot but I have no idea if it's because Adobe fixed the problems or just because it became old news.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Do you not like Chrome? It has a 64 bit build nowadays with Flash

I do not.
I'm also uninterested in discussing why again. It's been at least a year since I've seen a single new argument about why I shouldn't have a problem with the feature I consider a deal breaker; and unlike Cueball I'd rather spend quality time with Megan.

Out of interest: how often do you find you need flash?
It seems I need it less and less these days. Which is a good thing I feel.

So how often is that going to happen? Where's the aftermarket support opportunities? Let's pour a little gin and think this out more fully...

Less often than I used to; but often enough that I'm not willing to demote sites using it to only being viewable in The Crap Browser (along with such horrors as Java plugins and Optimized for IE6 ) yet. Maybe next year....

It brings to mind how many times, as a developer, I or a colleague have been told that we are cynical for pointing out that, to use a metaphor, we will probably never get reindeer to fly.

That kitten hanging off a washing line by its paws with "Hang in there" is just as bad.
By "hanging in there" you remain just as stuck as ever and - your a cat. You'll land on your feet if you let go.

Who's Marco? When did such a newbie get editorial powers?
BTW - Thanks for recognizing so nearly how inappropriate your first few were. You'll be amazed at how many never catch on. Welcome, Lothar... Code long, and prosper...

I'd guess some people are too trigger happy on the nuke account button and blew his 2nd account away along with his first. From what I saw last night, he screwed up and got smacked hard with a cluebat, but the message appeared to have gotten through; killing this account after the fact is IMO unjustified.

I'd agree - but if he asks nicely, Chris can re-instate him. Unless Chris did delete his account - which is quite possible, since the whole thread is missing as well.

Even if it wasn't Chris who pulled the trigger; I wouldn't be surprised if the guy's either gone permanently or if he return's will do so under a completely new identity.

Thank you for the discussion. I was able to follow while my kickout. Things go wrong, humans make errors, but errors are correctable.

Left work on Friday feeling great about this weekend, I was going to go visit my parents, read a new technical book, go to the pub etc etc, it was going to be great.
It's Sunday evening and I've done nothing, God I feel like such a failure right now
