I was watching Croatia - Cameroon last night; and in this otherwise brilliant match there was a special moment. I think this guy[^] has seen too many wrestling matches in his life. You just can't hit someone with that kind of technique and expect to be taken seriously.

My pet WPF component (@ home) was progressing so well!
But then I ate gluten (and I am celiac), and the last week I reached Zero productivity! Work productivity is low too!
Just before that I was at: I can program all day long!
Ho well... recovering... the MenuRibbonItem will prevail! Eventually....
I am (was last week) designing drop down ribbon item now!

My work productivity is low too. And I am currently working with WPF as well.
I blame the weather! For some reason I find WPF user controls for little bit boring, and when I find something boring or uninteresting my productivity drops really low. The only reason I find to finish what I started is what I say to myself: "Oh, come on do it and be done with it. Lets hope never again to do this cr@p again". And I am normally wrong.... every time...

Strange that WPF does that to you...
I think you might not have been properly introduced!!

I prefer writing the code than using the damn Designer.
I really like the *.rc files. You never gonna get the error in the annoying designer saying something went wrong the control cannot be shown, because you decided the remove some element of it.
About WPF . I was given one WPF control with the task to integrate the damn thing and I don't have any exp with that technology. But as far I can see its mostly working with the Designer :/

mm.... though I uses WPF since 2006 (is it 2007?) (having a Web Developer break since last year) my cumulative use time of the designer might be around... let me think... 3 hours?
Just close the damn irritating thing and write the XAML by hand! So much simpler!
Though, starting from scratch, without anyone to help you or any time to learn seems.. unrealistic.
In fact, so unrealistic that you should just take the time to learn, all will be better for that!
Quick starting tip: Once you know about layout / Panel (Grid, Canvas, StackPanel, WrapPanel) and Margin, Padding your custom user control writing skill will leap forward!
Read that[^]!
After that, next stop: templating and binding!

Reminds me of a time when I declared a variable Date, it was in SuperBase and all variables were global, it was the early 90s. It was a real WTF moment when the system date value in a totally unrelated form was 2.

What it means? Do you want to say?

I mean I am very tired and not very productive, both at home and work. Because being celiac (it's a autoimmune chronic sickness) eating gluten (found in wheat, rye and barley) is putting me down for a few weeks.

Coeliacs react to gluten in a wide variety of ways, from tiredness and sickness all the way through to excruciating agony. Contrary to what the weird beards will tell you, gluten is not bad for you and should not be avoided UNLESS you are coeliac, in which case gluten should be avoided at all costs. My wife is ceoliac, and even eating something off a plate that had ordinary bread on it can lead to her being crippled for the day.
