Hey CPians. I apologize in advance for the pseudo-spam, but it's for a good cause:
A buddy of mine created a new build system called PVC[^]. Free and open source, utilizes build tasks written in ScriptCS (C# without the compiler), a streaming build system inspired by Gulp.
He's got a nice little charity going[^]: Write a build plugin (e.g.: convert all tabs to spaces), and $50 gets donated to a person in medical need via Watsi.
Fun way to contribute to an open source project, plus you're helping people in need.
I figure I'll try my hand at writing a TypeScript plugin, maybe write a CP article about it. For some ideas of what to build, see the PVC help wanted page[^].
Thanks, have a great weekend, CPians.

I'd delete this, if I was you.
You know how we feel about spam, and that looks like it to me...

Hey, I've been on Code Project for over a decade. I figure I've earned some leeway, no?
Especially since it's for charity work, helping people in medical need. Plus, no money is being made here; this is non-commerical, open source bits, so it can't truly be spam!
(That said, if others feel it's too spammy, no worries, I'll delete it.)
**edit** I see Watsi and HackerNews are both promoting this. So I feel a litle more justified in posting it here!

I personally don't see an issue with this.

I rather like spam, Griff. Sliced thin, peppered and fried to a crisp.

He's different. He already aknowledged that something like his post may bee considered spam, but we had book & ink eShops advertised here, so I fail to see an issue. Apart from that, the post doesn't look like the usual spam (usual spam as in "long, unrelated text and maybe an obscure phone number").
I will never again mention that Dalek Dave was the poster of the One Millionth Lounge Post, nor that it was complete drivel.

This weekend, I'm going to be ordering the remainder of the parts needed for my engine swap. The motor is at the machine shop being final-machined and assembled. Total expenditures so far (including parts about to be ordered) - $17,900.
Shouold be able to start the swap by mid/late June - two months ahead of schedule. Target completion date is Oct 01.

I can't drive 55.

I damn sure can't. I remember when I was young in the AZ dessert the speed limit was whatever was safe and prudent, I had a dodge r/t with the hemi and I would blow the carbs out occasionally.

17,900 and you still won't buy my V8 : )
I bet it is going to be nice when you get it all running. I did an engine swap in my 2004 GTO, loved it but ... never again. Long tube headers, the noise, was my favorite part of the entire ordeal.

A little late to the party, I installed VS2013 today.
Now it wants me to login. !?!? huh !??!!? My instinct says no no no.
However, I am curious. What do I get for hooking it to my MSDN account?
What do I get for creating a "Visual Studio Online Account" ?
I think I should I run from that. I use VS but I don't want to be assimilated into a VS Borg.
But I want to see what it is...
I feel like a mousetrap is going to snap if I take a nibble.

It's not required. In fact, I often find I'm logged out in subsequent instances.
I think if you want to auto-sync your settings amongst installations then a login is required.

If it's the trial version, you can extend it by a few months.
Other than that, I think it periodically uploads your code to Microsoft so they can have a laugh.
All this cloud nonsense is getting very annoying.

It's not a bad idea to create an account. You'll get a Visual Studio online account (eg, https://jeremyfalcon.visualstudio.com) and online TFS hosting for projects. Not that I'd never use it for personal projects, but it's nice to know if I get tired of Google Code or whatever, I always have access to another offsite code repo for code.
Edit: Keep in mind I'm only talking about the free parts.

It's Friday though, so;
