I keep getting "drop it, leave it alone" suggestions more and more often. But I... just... can't... stop... coding! And modeling... and texturing...
I want to be.. forever young!..
Do you have stuff like that too?

I have a pet project of my own, and I would guess we're not alone. But so far it's only year and something. I've found out these projects help me to stay on the edge of new technologies (Azure, smartphones, etc.) and also they are kind of a therapy. If it's still entertaining for you than there's obvious YES answer for you. I would also ask: Do you feel progress? Is finish in sight or still elusive as it always was?
regards,
Kate

Depends really, on what the project is.
If you are trying to write "Hello World!" in FORTRAN and it's taken you fifteen years and no end in sight, then I'd have to suggest that a surrender to the arms of reality might be a good idea.
But if it's the whole of Quake III Arena written from scratch in ARM assembler for Android Tablets, then I'd have to say "Keep going!" and "Work harder!"

LOL, it's actually the whole Unreal Tournament opensourced on a different platform (thanks, but if I work even harder, I might break )

It is OK, definitely. All we love to work on vintage projects.

Pet projects are for learning, so as long as you learn from it - go on!
I'm not questioning your powers of observation; I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is. (V)

Hobby - means things you love to do. So if you are not bored, no one else should dictate you on the time limit, otherwise it's not hobby.
[Joke]
You are not talking about your job here, right? And the people who are giving you suggestions are not your boss(es), right? RIGHT?!

Sure, as long as (i) you're having fun, (ii) you don't expect it to be any kind of external or commercial success and (iii) the tech stack isn't totally obsolete so anything you're learning is worth nothing.

Nope.
It won't be 15 years until December or thereabouts.

Of course it's OK.
One assumes that the current goals have somewhat changed since inception, though- or are you writing a program for an Amiga or something
I am currently working on PooperPig [^]- a game I first started work on in the mid to late 1980's (see http://www.viewdata.org.uk/download.php?cat=15_Prestel&file=logon07.pdf p 19)
The current version is mobile - IOS, Android and possibly WP8, and also potentially Mac and PC
The original was on a BBC micro[^]
By the time I finish it will probably be played on a 3d holodeck !!

Oh, ja, my wife and I enjoyed an afternoon nude in the English Garden when we visited that fine city.
You'll never get very far if all you do is follow instructions.

'English' is German for a rare steak. 'English Garden' is a place to, how shall we say, expose one's raw meat. I think the Germans misunderstand us Brits, really, that's not us at all.

(Used to be) Berlin had leetle tiny patches of parky land sandwiched between buildings here and there. (Well, at least in the Neukölln and Kreuzberg areas.
In the Summer, they were always filled with nekkid people.

Had a very busy weekend, going to different beaches with different set of friends. I've been to 3 beaches for two days.
Then next weekend, we'll go to another beach with my colleagues. Then next next weekend, and also the last weekend of May (different set of friends again)...
Looking forward to do cliff diving again at the end of May.
How's your weekend?

Used to love cliff diving up in Canada many moons ago, can't do it now.

Beach? Go away, we had cloudy/rainy weather. No need to make me jealous
managed to go for a run, got stuff done and now on my way to my final project's presentation.
It's monday morning, and I want to go back to sleep.
I will never again mention that Dalek Dave was the poster of the One Millionth Lounge Post, nor that it was complete drivel.
