Keep your diary free for the 12th of July
I have bought 4 tickets for this year's Chaps Olympiad[^]
She Who Must Be Obeyed and my good self would be pleased for you to join us for Gin, Pimms and Hijinks.
I have paid for the tickets, so you would be our guests, but if the urge to throw some token of your appreciation toward us were to overwhelm you then feel free to act upon it!
Dress code is 'Chap', no denim or trainers, and no sportswear except cricket whites.
Hats preferred but not obligatory.
Would you and the memsahib be up for it?
Let me know asap.

I don't want to sound critical, but memsahib.
Is that politically correct to be used in polite company?

Well dash me optics.
Tis a rum do when one of the chaps questions another chaps term of affection for his good lady wife.
But I have rumbled your game, you are trying get an invite too.
Well if you are suitably afternoonified and the togs are bang up to the elephant then there is no reason why you and your Moll can't join us for some Maffeking.

Thank you for the invitation, but we will have to respectfully decline on this occasion.
We are off to the Orient and will be traveling here for the foreseeable future.
We will be happy to meet up for some food and drink if we get back to your corner of the world.

Just curious as to the sensitivity of colonial era sayings.

Been a while, guess no one remember me anymore (if you do, you have been here too long)
But I'm back. Was quite active in here in the good old days, before Bob (and a bit after), and now I thought it was about time to stop by again.
Looking forward to see what CP has worked out to be

Yes. Except for that everything has changed.

Welcome back!
It's the same old CodeProject give or take a few new chairs, upgraded carpet, and a honking big framework to power the articles parked out the back.
What have you been up to?
cheers

Yeah, I can see some of the new chairs here and there

Just cranking out code for different clients, and making music. Got a music studio where I work about 50% of my time

Yes but it is not as much fun as in the bad old days when the lounge had a more diverse character.

I can see what you mean, by looking at the couple of pages in the lounge...

Yes and No, We have created an illusion for old folks (i.e. everyone who has replied above me) so that CP seems the same good old place. But in reality it's not, you will know in few more days.
Oh and Welcome back! (with evil grin)
