I think the real reason for a one way toll is that the expect anyone coming from wales to be broke so wont have money for a toll

They expect everyone that come and paid need to return back so he will be already paid that is why they do not pay again. Only guessing

How much do you pay per entry?

Depends on the size of the vehicle: http://www.severnbridge.co.uk/toll_prices[^]

No, the driver is allowed in free, if he stands on the roof and ducks when he goes under the barrier.

Eh ok, what if you are in a taxi who pays the fees the driver or the passenger?

|

I'd imagine the driver will, (since the tollbooth is on his side) but would then charge the passenger for it.

damn it, eh? How can I pass without paying then? Do they charge if I walk through?

You can walk across the old bridge (it has a foot path and a cycle way), but you can't the new bridge - it has no facilities, and is a motorway anyway, where walking (or cycling) is forbidden by law (for your comfort and safety)
There is no charge if you go round the Severn - but it's a long way round!

Normally you'd do it the other way around though. I mean who'd want to pay to enter Wales? Getting out OTOH...
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

How much did you pay? And who pays? Everybody or just English?
|
|

Its only a bridge across a river, a big river, that you pay to use. You can enter Wales by one of many hundreds of other routes and not pay, so its a silly post.

What if bridge broke while you are on it do you get refunds?

Deffinitely, sale of goods act, 1974 covers that.

they thought of that on the QE2 bridge (and the new seven bridge I have been informed), they charge you when you get to the other side, on the Seven bridge they assume it's you own fault for wanting to go to wales in the first place

Getting a comment like that from Luc is like getting a "well done!" and a pay rise out of the blue from your boss! You start to think it's a good article.
But...he won't come back - he really did dislike QA and the reduction in importance of the forums that resulted. Massive loss to the site when he made that decision - he was one of the most knowledgable people here...

I'll be in Belgium briefly on 7th and 21st April. As quickly as I can drive through it, I'll be done.
Honestly - we'll probably stay the night passing through with a friend in Brussels and, time permitting, visit Bruges on the way back.

Sure will, the days between will be in Hungary.
