I bought a 928 one week after launch and about a month later the speaker started acting up during phone calls to the point I had to use speaker phone all the time. I got a replacement through Verizon (awesome customer support on this btw) and a couple months later the replacement started acting up. I think the problem is that it started shortly after I used the headphone jack on both phones. Apparently from what I've searched online, the headphone jack is low quality and in conjunction with the Sim tray design, they cause a bad connection at the speaker? Anyway, I just press lightly on the back of the phone between the camera and the headphone jack when it acts up and everything is fine. I'll swap it just before it goes out of warranty.
All that being said, work wanted to get rid of all Blackberrys and their only options were Android phones and IPhones (neither of which I care to own) so I put in to be a test subject for the 928 last month. The sys admins got two in to test and 2 weeks later, a shiny new 928 shows up to replace my Blackberry, so now I carry two 928s. My battery lasts about 2 days for me with the Glance feature on all the time. The updated Glance with notifications is great for anyone that doesn't have this enabled. The only thing that's missing on these phones is VPN support. Maybe with the 8.1 update...

I've heard that 8.1 will have VPN support. And I love the updates to Glance introduced in Black.

Lumia 920 for about 7 months now, quite happy.
Bought it because of the sat nav, and now my sat nav can even send SMS or make calls!

I am a Nokia Lumia 720 user. The speed is excellent. Dual core 1GHz with Qualcomm MSM8227 prevents hang up and supports all the applications. It supports graphics very well with a 4.3 inch screen and 16M colors. The mobile supports multi-touch which is another added advantage and helps in faster processing.

I've had a Lumia 920 for about a year and I love it, best I've ever owned. At first, there was a glitch with the firmware, but the Nokia Software Updater (now version 4.1.0) took care of it. The Amber update was rock solid, as was Black. I use the phone all the time (email, SMS, Kindle, and best of all navigation). Nokia's turn-by-turn navigation requires no connection of any kind (no WiFi, no cellular data) if you download the country map(s) when connected to WiFi ahead of time. It has too many features that I love to list here (Glance, the camera and the camera software, etc.)

May I ask in what country and region are you, and on what carrier?
How is the call quality?

I bought my 920 in the Philippines, it is an open phone. I mostly use it in Europe on the Vodafone network. Right now I am in SE Asia (Bali, Indonesia and the Philippines), this weekend I am off to Hong Kong, then Helsinki and Budapest. The call quality is superb, albeit in the Philippines dropped calls are the norm. It is not Nokia's fault, the same thing happens on my wife's LG Optima.

I would suggest Lumia 920 (that is, if it is still available).
My brother bought it at a time when windows phones started to become popular, so there weren't many apps as compared to android.
Now, many apps have been added in the windows app store's portfolio.
920 has one of the best camera for a smartphone and the nokia lenses enrich it further. The amber update added the manual focus option.
The accounts added help the 'people' app a lot in displaying unified information for your contacts.
The looks are solid.
The only flaw I find now is the volume control. It is universal. You can't customize as you can do in android, for eg. Music, Notification, Ringer, System. There's no option like this in Windows. Hope this is addressed in some future update.
Hope my suggestion helps!

Very happy with my Lumia 920, flawless performance, great camera, battery life could be better though. Currently eyeing the Luma 1520 because its Full HD 6-inch screen would make it an ultra-portable tablet
Just bought the Lumia 625 for my son, has a large 4,7-inch screen, works great so far.
My mother uses a Lumia 620, not very happy with the camera, touchscreen tends to be a little quirky at times.
My wife is still using a Lumia 800, also happy with it, but it is time to get her a new Windows 8 phone, probably going to buy the 925.

I forced convinced all of them because that way I can provide end-user support
But I have to admit that my wife still misses the Sony Vivaz she previously owned because it was neat and had a great camera - unlike the Lumia 800, first generation Lumias were good, but not great.

That was my experience too - I had a Lumia 800 (purchased just before WP8 announced as not backward-compatible). It was good at the time, but the latest generation (I have a 1020) are just awesome.

Currently rocking a Lumia 620. Very affordable, really good phone.
It's fast, runs everything very smoothly, battery duration is very good unless you have 3g + wifi + gps all activated which is to be expected.
My only complain is the search button. I handle my phone with one hand, and the base of the thumb sometimes presses the search button (which opens Bing) while reaching for the letters on the far left of the keyboard.
Over time I got used to avoid it, but sometimes it still touch it very slightly and Bing shows up. Those are the only times I pressed that button.
