What I've always found "interesting" is that there's no problem about saying something like a child inherited their parents musical ability, athletic ability, &etc., but as soon as one considers intelligence, there's the fear of all 'ell breakin' loose.
If various other mammals can be bread for personality traits (dogs for ferocity), then how could one exclude humans from husbandry?
Certainly, environment can have something to do with it. Probably a lot. Culture, as well, as that will result in self-imposed rigor in certain types of skills (mental and/or physical).
Separating these . . . that's the tricky part. Coincidence, Correlation, and Cause-and-Effect. This trio effectively birthed Disraeli's "Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics."
Statistically, being born is a fatal affliction.
As for me? Per the initial message of this thread, I'm putting out my shingle to make some big bucks supplying stud service.

Oh hurray. Yet another case of wild-ass extrapolation from a single data point.

Hi Mike,
I remember a brief conversation we had about BK Precision instruments. I was wondering if you can help. Having to rewrite this software (don't get me started on it!) I have the BK Precision 1823A Frequency Counter working. The BK Precision 5491B Multi-meter is being the pain. I can't seem to get the thing to appear as a Com Port, I have tried to download all of the drivers that I can. I can't seem to get the thing to see it even as an unknown device.
Back To Basics I go!

The hardware guys always blame it on the software and the software guys always blame it on the hardware but when you do both who can you blame it on? ...the bossa nova[^]

Said cable is now three piece and hurled out the window! I love spending a good 6 hours trying to work out how I have managed to "elephant" a USB installation

That is the first time My Desk Draw has ever let me down every other time I need something go in there and find it!
The problem with me is that I put stuff in special places where I won't forget where they are but I get so many of these special places and my memory queue is so short that I can't find stuff unless it's in the last few nodes of the queue and that usually is not the case. Getting old sucks!

I have exactly the same issue which is why I started to use only for good (my desk draw) and the bin for bad, but not in that case! Face + Palm again on this
But I use the bin sparingly because as soon as I pitch it I need it.

For me the BK meters have always been these[^].
You'll have to excuse me for being slightly disappointed when realizing.
