First off, I never change my lucky 2011 mankini.
Secondly, I believe Mr. Maunder was travelling last week so I'll have to remind him next I catch him.
Thanks,

It would be a shame if he enabled an easy Annoy&Spam mechanism by accident. I am just trying to help

Mostly him, because it makes me look like an a-hole, by saying I'll do something and then not doing it, and his question just vanishing. At least if he reads this, or contacts me later I can refer to this as an explanation of why I didn't respond.
But yes, I guess there is an element of wanting to point out to some people that their actions have consequences, intended or not. I can't say it direct to them, because the system doesn't let us know who they are - rightly IMHO - but that let's them continue with something that is not constructive.

Not sure - it was a game of some kind, because he was having trouble storing and retrieving high scores.

Yep - that was the one I replied to, too - offering a little help and pointers rather than the 'we're not doing your homework'
I went back to check & the q had gone.

Quote: For everyone who abuse voted his question: I don't know if I saw his question or not; however, are you sure it was abuse voted? Questions disappear all the time because you can mark it as Unclear or Incomplete. It may have disappeared just because people did not think it was clear enough.
I see lots of questions in QA that I wish other people would vote away because they are unclear and the OP won't respond to questions and I have not experienced trigger happy abuse voters in QA. I could be wrong but you may be jumping the gun on this one.

Ok, I don't use Windows 8. So Sunday when I had to load a DVD of pictures up for a slide show it was my first attempt.
On windows 7
1) Open Directory
2) Double Click image
3) Done
On Windows 8
1) Wait for action after inserting DVD
2) Decide nothing is happening
3) Browse to file
4) Can't find way to browse
5) Click explore from the popup that finally appears
6) Double click image discover no slide show feature
7) Goto Start
8) Slide for Slide Show App
9) Discover that I have to import the DVD to an approved location to view
10) Wait
11) Finally get to the slide show 15 minutes later (no hyperbole)
Ok, I understand a lot of this is from my in-experience. But, making a novel process doesn't necessarily improve it? If something is simple, fast, and well understood why change it?
I am sure if I knew how to get to Desktop mode I may have been able to do it faster.

[Windows Logo Key - d] simultaneously gets you to the desktop where you will be more familiar with the setup.
I use a lot of keyboard shortcuts to get around. Google "keyboard shortcuts for windows" to get a list of useful ones.
