Found an alert on the hosting company site saying they are migrating the server on Christmas Day so as to cause the least interruption...which makes some sense! It'll be down for a few hours apparently. Would have been nice to have an email in advance though.

Time to plug in the sous vide, then? The one that Mrs. Herself bought for you? The one you didn't take for a test run before it was wrapped? the one that came as a complete surprise?
If there is one thing more dangerous than getting between a bear and her cubs it's getting between my wife and her chocolate.

I just finished eating the Turkey breast I cooked in it for Christmas dinner. (There's only the two of us, so a whole bird would last us 'til the end of Feb...)
Very impressed - soft, juicy Turkey that tasted really good, instead of the usual dry cardboard flavour. Really easy as well - defrost the vacuum pack I sealed last month, stuff in the sous vide @ 62.5C for three hours and then quickly brown the skin in a skillet.
Stuffed solid at the moment, and the Pud is streaming for when we have a little room. Even better, Herself volunteered to wash up!

right now, trying to get brain off work. Christmas Eve was spent taking care of a few last shopping trips (boy was the jewelry store crowded with last minute men ), then suffering through my in-laws annual white elephant Christmas eve dinner event made to last as long as possible.
I have a few computer games I'd like to fool around with but then there are some projects (non-code related) to be completed this week.
Sleep. Getting more of that too.

I went to some friends for their annual "Morning after Christmas Eve" brunch. Then "The Desolation of Smaug" with my sister and her family in the afternoon, followed by dinner at her home.

In traditional style:
Replace the dimmer switch in the kitchen.
Put on door-stops.
Sorted and put away some tools and things.
Cursing that there's nothing to watch on TV except Xmas special and giddy nauseating news items being delivered by even giddier and more nauseating media personalities.
Also, ate some multi-bacterial yogurt to offset effects of a broad-spectrum anti-biotic that wiped out my intestinal flora (except for an evil one, of course).
What else would one do?
