I have used yahoo mail since it had a 10mb storage and I must agree with you...
The first time I accessed it after the last changes was quite disappointing.

If you look at the feedback page (last link on the left menu), the top 10 suggestions are about bringing back the older design/functions that are omitted.
In the past, every Yahoo mail re-design will introduce more bugs, and slower performance. At-least this one feels faster and so far, it works just fine. But I do miss tabs and direct folders list.

I also have a yahoo address. However that address is like 15 years old... So it's the email where most of my accounts have been registered to. I have however begun moving most of those more important thing to google over the past few years and are currently using the yahoo-adress as a spam sink.
But, I'm also not very fond of the Gmail Design. Writing an E-mail in that small little window on the bottom right corner is just bulls**t... Especially because my browser window is to the right of my.. When writing an e-mail in gmail I would have to turn my head even more so.
At least personally I'm not sending that many e-mails. I'ts mostly receiving them and for that my phone is often sufficient for that.

I've stopped using the Yahoo Web UI a long long time ago, basically when my account started to get attacked almost weekly, and I always had to go through all that crappy process of unlocking (seriously, I think Yahoo has the least user-friendly account unlocking process of all free email providers). Have you ever tried recovering from a tablet or phone? It's nigh-on impossible.
So, I deleted any sensitive information I might have stored there, changed the password to a 40-something chars, and left it like that. Last time I checked, I had some 4500(!!!) unread emails, most of which I suspect was spam.
And about Google, I'm not a fan of their Web UI either, but as I have multiple accounts, I always keep them in Thunderbird, which I simply adore. Simple, clean, and does its job without much of a fuss, just what I need.

Yesterday was 21st October 2013.
That leaves us very little time if we are to get those hoverboards we all are craving.

Keep it under your hat, but in answer to your question "Johnny J. wrote: Who's going to win the next Grand National? " then I can answer that.
The Bookies.

Yep.
I have never placed a bet on a horse. Years and years ago, I had a quick look at the cars and decided not to bother. Compare the cars the punters drive with the cars the bookies drive and it's clear who wins and who loses...

It's supposed to be fun.
Most things that are fun cost you money.
As with everything some people can lose sight of the fun.

I don't think the bookies have a sense of humour!

No no wrong side of the fence, the bookies are in it for the money - you, being the sucker/punter/cash cow are supposed to be having fun.

How much does it cost to watch a quiz or game show? Similar entertainment values.

Google has nothing to do with SEO. SEO doesn't mean that google does some thing and page gets on top.
Search Engine Optimization depends on lots of parameters. Different search engines use different crawlers.

I know someone who advertises his business on Google. He pays $4000/day to them which brings in $5000/day of business typically. So, he gets $1000 and Google get $4000 from his turnover. It's not hard to see why this company drips cash.

You may assume as it is on the ABC that I was reading the paper and not searching foreskins. As I am at work I have no need to look for dickheads and I'm dammed sure my net nazi would block 99% of sites if I made such a search.
