Dear Boss,
I'm leaving for Florida on <day> for a vacation and I will be gone for <days>.
I'm leaving all digital devices at home and cannot be reached for <days>.
This is my vacation, I have earned it and I plan on enjoying it by unplugging.
Thanks for your understanding, or not!
Your loyal employee

I turned last weekend from a 3-day weekend into a 4-day one by taking Friday off as a holiday. It's been years I've done that.
I was rewarded with tornadoes and a power failure that lasted for nearly 48 hours. I'm not sure whether I've jinxed myself, but this would be in line with my typical luck.
OTOH...I'm trying very hard to tell myself I'm lucky I haven't suffered any actual damage, other than one dead PC that (I'm guessing) didn't like the brownouts, even though it was sitting behind a UPS...

If you’re gone for a week and it all falls apart - ask for a big raise!!
If you can't laugh at yourself - ask me and I will do it for you.

Unless it fell apart because of your code.

But when I got home I realized I picked 7 up.
I'll let myself out.

This left me a sour taste.

Sickly sweet for me.

Agreed! that's why one must always have a good supply of Tito's vodka on hand, you have to offset that sweetness somehow.

I've heard that apparently italian Sprite is that much sourer than European and US Sprite. We also had a small production of sugar-free Sprite that I loved, but it was too sour and bitter even for Italian taste (it was much closer to Schweppes than to standard Sprite).

Again, I'm thinking Tito's to the rescue!
You want bitter, consider this stuff Jeppson's Malört[^] a local (Chicago) specialty.

I have to admit that I have indeed tried it. My son and his wife took a trip to Chicago a few years ago and heard about it from a bartender who had them try it. He brought a bottle back when the family all got together for Christmas. We all tried a shot. I threatened to disown him. My youngest daughter took the bottle back home as she and her boyfriend were throwing a party the following week and wanted to torture their friends. As it turns out one of her friends actually liked it and finished it off.
Have you ever tried it? To me, it tasted of anise and wasn't so bad - for about a half second. Then a horrible aftertaste aftershock sets in that knots your whole face. It is truly unpleasant.

I have had it several times, I expected it to be a lot stronger (alcohol-wise) to be honest. The aftertaste is bitter no doubt, but to me, no more so than say a grapefruit. I lost a good deal of my ability to smell ~15 years ago, so I can't really speak to any nuances of what it actually tastes like. But given a choice, I'm more of a vodka person.

Sprite? That’s the soft drink that used to sponsor NASA space shuttle missions after they couldn’t get 7 up!

So I posted a problem with VS...
One on the forum posted that there is a solution in upcoming 17.3.0, and invited me to check it using the preview version... It is not an option for me right now, so I didn't - decided to wait for the update...
Meanwhile, as time passes a super intelligent MS-bot picked up the conversation, changed it's status to 'Need more info' and added this post:
Quote: We will close this report in 14 days because we don’t have enough information to investigate further. To keep the problem open, please provide the requested details.
This is after, that it was clearly stated that there is a solution in a future version...

I'm surprised that the automated response was not, "Performs as designed," or "It's a feature."

We always forget that there are two ways an AI can pass the Turing test. One involves notable artificial intelligence, the other natural stupidity.
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.
