No, thanks. There is a long list of shows that I used to like where I would like to see those who currently make the episodes tarred, feathered and chased out of town. That would probably be the only watchable show these guys will contribute to.
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

Maybe they're confused. They'll probably feel like being something else in the next episode.

I did not notice. I did notice it was corny and cliche a disappointment. Also I dislike the undisciplined manner in which the crew speak to the Captain. I would prefer if Captain Pike ran a tighter ship. Will probably continue to watch unless it refuses to improve.

Network card settings in Device manager: "Allow this device to wake computer" set to "Yes".
I don't know what is calling it back but that seems to have stopped it.

network discovery pings from some other devices on your lan?
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

I read the title and though this was going to be about the object relational mapper, Hibernate...
After reading your post I was under the impression that a Java package that you're using in your applications somehow woke your computer.
Took me a minute to realize you weren't talking about Hibernate at all and then it started to make sense
And it's not even 9AM yet

Used NHibernate once, but I'll stick to EF, thanks

Thanks for posting this. My desktop network card was also set to "yes". I turned it off, although I did not have the issue you had. But I don't want some scumbag who may have my IP address (socket?) to be able to turn on my machine remotely. By the way, I also do not allow remote connections to my machine.

I know you've found and fixed the problem, but be aware that BIOS settings can affect this behavior too. Most BIOS' can do 'power-up on LAN' and/or 'boot from LAN'. I don't know if the Windows behavior overrides this.
Software Zen: delete this;

Apparently, Win 8+ settings override the BIOS - not surprising since mostly they run on UEFI which is better integrated with the OS than BIOS.

I'm using Hibernate under Win 11 to make life a load easier - if drives are connected to my SMB1 NAS they remain connected after hibernate, but don't for Shutdown (which means I have to power up, then Restart before reconnecting the shares).
But tonight the computer refuses to stay off - I've hibernated it 4 times so far and it keeps powering itself back on again. The cat is sleeping upstairs so he's not to blame, and Herself doesn't go within ten feet of the computer in case she mucks it up. (Which in fairness is a real risk since she is definitely a Luddite and fixes most things by screaming at them.)
This is doing my head in ...

The people who have co-opted your system to mine cryptos when it's idle don't want it to hibernate.
