As long as the lump does not turn out to be the cat...
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

Note to Griff, Be Sure Coffee has started working before working on anything.
As for herself or anyone else leaving things in pockets. Many years ago instituted a finders keepers policy on laundry in our household. IT has worked wonders. For a few years though I almost financed a few vacations off found money. Eventually it sinks in though.
To err is human to really elephant it up you need a computer

Yesterday the wife asked me to call her phone as she could not find it, called but could not hear the ringtone, silly so and so had it on silent so we spend the next 20 minutes checking every flat surface where it could be, nothing. Just as it starts raining (we live on a acreage in tropical Queensland and it is the rainy season) I wander down the back and there it is sitting on a pot plant - and the skies opened up. It survived but must have been a close thing.
Never underestimate the power of human stupidity -

What were you thinking?
Got out of bed - that was your first mistake!
Secondly the secret to a happy life is delegation. Domestic chores not involving tools should be delegated to Herself. (a) She's probably cleverer and more astute than you (women often are, in a quiet way) and thus not likely to launder your phone (not even by accident), and (b) if she does perchance make that mistake you at least have someone else to blame.

Back in the day I had a not-smart phone that I put through the washer and dryer twice. The first time through lost me all sound, so I had to keep the phone in my pocket to feel it ring. The second time through returned the sound with no additional damage.
They don't make things like they used to, but I sure do prefer my Galaxy to that old thing

This why "routine" is so important. When my kids were little, it was hard to follow a routine and thus this sort of thing happened all the time.

I managed to wash my Bluetooth headphones a while ago... They stopped working just long enough for me to order a replacement pair from Amazon... And have been fine ever since...

How else do you expect to launder the BitCoin in your phone?

Never washed my phone but I have washed a number of USB keys over the years. They all worked after the washing and drying.

You know - that message started out by reminding me of the lyrics of a Beatles song.
"Woke up.
Got out of bed.
Dragged a comb across my head.
Made my way downstairs and drank a cup, and looking up I noticed I was late.
Grabbed my coat, grabbed my had, made the bus in seconds flat."
Not sure how it relates to drowned phones though.

Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.

The one representing eternal truth is of course the one that states "There are lies. Then there are damn lies. And then comes statistics."
For my writing, I love his advice: Whenever you write 'very', replace it with 'damn'. Before publishing, your editor will cross our every single instance, making it the way it ought to be.
I have got a list of words, 'very' is one of them, that I search through my texts for before publication. I have done this 'filtering' for many many years. I am ashamed how often such null-words still creep into my writing.

There are so many.
Twain's cruel but funny quote: "opera as “incoherent noise which always so reminds me of the time the orphan asylum burned down.”"

Ah, the Ol' annual performance review. Probably - no, absolutely, the one work task I hated the most and I miss least since retirement in 2017.
In 2015 HR couldn't locate my previous year's review. In 2016 the same. I had decided that since the company put so much value in them I would refuse to take part in 2017. But, instead, on the very week they announced open season on performance reviews I turned in my notice. The fireworks may have been fun had I waited though.

I told them that a year was a long time to wait for raising issues that supposedly needed fixing.
"Before entering on an understanding, I have meditated for a long time, and have foreseen what might happen. It is not genius which reveals to me suddenly, secretly, what I have to say or to do in a circumstance unexpected by other people; it is reflection, it is meditation." - Napoleon I
