but but it gets people to read it right?
I personally especially love the sun cycle eruptions news. and how everytime they have to go into a 3 paragraph description of what exactly that is and how it 'might' affect life on earth. I think there were three of them last week.

When I see an article (science or otherwise) using the word "shocking" or "stunning" in the headline I know the article isn't worth reading.

I suggest we send those "journalists" there to spend a week. Then they can come back and readjust what they've been reporting as they feel necessary.

I saw a 'click bait' article (and stupidly followed it) about the amazing maths / science / engineering of the early Egyptians. It included the staggering observation that all of the circles that the Egyptians made had a circumference to diameter ratio of exactly pi; proving that they knew about pi (despite the fact that all circles have a circumference to diameter ratio of pi; that is basically the definition of what pi is). It also said the pyramids were aligned to the stars in Orion's Belt; despite the fact (?!?!?) that no one had seen Orion's Belt until 2000 years later.

I think we've had this one before.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!" - Hunter S Thompson - RIP
