Why I find myself logged in your stupid site with an account while i did absolutely nothing. You are cracker thiefs. I hope you'll get your site shut down and you get fined.
You stole my mail and maybe other data. THIEFS

The site has been going for over 20 years now, and in all the 12 years I've been here has never shown any sign of scamming. Not once have I been asked for money, or any personal details other than my email address and my physical address for awards and prizes when I have won them.
I don't think this site is a scam, or full of "cracker thiefs" (whatever they are) and to the best of my knowledge in order to become a member you have to register yourself and give an email address. YOu joined yesterday, perhaps you forgot?
If you want to close an account you opened in error, it's very easy:
1) Hover over your username at the top right of the page. A drop down list will open.
2) Select "My Settings" from the list.
3) In the resulting page, select the "Privacy" tab.
4) There are two options:
4.1) Under "Account status" there is a checkbox "Close my account"
4.2) Under "Forget me Forever" there is a checkbox "Forget me. Forever."
5) Select the appropriate checkbox, make sure that "I have read and agree..." is ticked, and press "Save my Settings".
6) The rest is history ... as is your account.
Have a nice day.

I know that "Cracker" has many meanings - I suspect the OP is using the racist one ...

No, no, no!!!! I refuse that it has any other meaning.
Cracker only means, and has only ever meant, "really really good". So if someone tells a cracker of a joke, it's wet your pants funny.
<\mock rant>
So scrap the racist meaning and substitute "really good".
OP was saying we're really good thieves. Oh hang on . . .

Man, I just left my browser open with some tabs and one of the tabs was on your site. I went to sleep and when i woke up at 8.30 I had mail which said I created an account at 7 am, while i was sleeping.
I don't know how your site got my information, and how it created an account with my name, maybe scamming google account info.

I frequently leave CP open in a tab and it doesn't do any posting on my behalf - bit of a shame really as it could be a neat way of dealing with the spam moderation.
Does anyone else live in your place that might have done this as a joke?
Could one of those other tabs have downloaded malware that used your details to spam this site?

I live with other people but they sleep in different rooms, they were at sleep for sure at the time of event and they are not the people who do these things. I have no problems of night walking or similar. I really don't know how it could happen but it's not a nice thing.

It's also very, very unlikely - everybody here is a developer, and we hate info gathering as much as anyone else (possibly more so). A much more likely scenario is that someone in your house did it, and perhaps forgot ...
But if you are worried, just close the account and CP will never bother you again. Not once have I heard of any member details being exposed, sold, or given away by this site: they go to great lengths to prevent that happening as privacy is important to the site designers, and always has been. Certainly in the 12+ years I've been a member, they haven't done it to me once!

It's also very unlikely that someone in my house did that. They don't do jokes and they are very respectful of personal space. Thanks for the response and sorry for the rage I'm relieved you are good people.

Do you have a cat? Mine is quite technologically competent: he can make and receive phone calls, turn on my computer unaided, and has been known to send emails. No. seriously. He really does.

Think about it: the site would need two (or three?) pieces of info to "sign you up" automatically: email address, some idea of your prefered name, and a password.
The email it's conceivable could be harvested by cookie hunting in your browser (but that's far from trivial).
Your name though? That's harder, because the site would have no idea how to relate your "real world" name to "Davide 2022" - I have no idea what you real world name is, and though I'm guessing that the 2022 was suggested by the site when "Davide" was tried but found to be already used nobody but you would know if that's a first name, surname, or nickname! It presumably has meaning to you, but it's just noise to everybody else!
And the password ... nobody knows that - not even this site does as it's salted and hashed and can't be recovered. So I'd suggest you use your browser to look for "Codeproject" in its stored passwords list and see what it is. Chances are it's meaningful to you as well ... but not to anyone else!
Sorry, but Occam's razor says "you signed yourself up" but I can't explain why you woudln't remember that ...
If it worries you, close the account. Problem solved.

Man, I never use that style of nickname/number for my accounts, even less I would choose the current year as number. In my preferences the password is not saved. I don't care if it shows my name, I'm pissed as you would be, cause this site created an account grabbing my info while I clicked absolutely nothing and typed anything at all.

I'm afraid you are going to have to be "pissed" then: nobody here believes that you didn't create the account yourself - just as Occam's Razor suggests.

Yes and use your Occam's razor to suggest yourself that it's completely stupid that I came here ranting about the account creation if I was the one who created it. You think I came here to joke? Are you playing the part of the stupid or what, you feel the smarter one not believing me? Use better you logic if you take it in the argument.

Or you got drunk and forgot you did it, or you are a troll, or you have had your other account here closed for some reason and want to "get your own back", or have another ulterior motive - we can't tell, because we have no idea who you are just as you have no idea who I am (other than what I have chosen to post on this site that you may have seen).
I'm not claiming greater intelligence, just looking at the evidence which is all firmly in the "you are mistaken" camp except for the word of one (brand new) member. Occam's Razor once again ...

You are just an arrogant person who's not humble enough to trust other people, you keep filling the messages with the words "Occam's razor" to show and feel some kind of (questionable) superiority. This is what I deduce about you cause I know I'm not a troll or else that you think, and I know I'm telling the truth.

I wonder if he takes Lunesta or Ambien. Sleep-walking is a common side effect, people have been known to paint rooms or cook meals while asleep after taking those. Why not sign up for CodeProject while sleep-walking?
If you think 'goto' is evil, try writing an Assembly program without JMP.

So, I'm going to delete my profile but before deleting it I want to know how this site stole my info to create an unallowed profile. I came cause i needed some c# support but i'll never come to this phishing site again.

See the responses from @OriginalGriff and myself. This site didn't do any of that. Something or someone at your end created the account.

No one stole anything. You created it yourself, as that is the only way you could post these messages.

I found myself logged in with an account created as soon as I woke up. You speak not knowing anything. It happened to me, not to you. You can't tell me what happened to me pretending to know better than me LOL. I did nothing, just found myself an email which said I made an account at 7 am, while sleeping.
