The United States military uses the format: DD-MM-YYYY which is the same, more or less as the default for E.U., minus the difference of dots and hyphens.
Why can't the ENTIRE WORLD use the same format.

Pretty much, it does - though Japan is ISO yyyy-mm-dd which is even more sensible as it sorts correctly.
It's just those strange Left Ponders that insist on using mm-dd-yyyy and imperial measurements. Wild Thing Quotes by Josh Bazell[^] (Link contains the F word twice so may not be SFW depending on your friendly corporate net nazi)

I'm a "left ponder", and I use "YYYY.MM.DD" for the very reason you cited - it sorts correctly.

Sweden also uses the ISO format.
Except where mandated differently by EU regulations (mainly expiration dates).

I didn't know that - thank you for educating me!

It's been Swedish standard since 1972.
For the reason of sorting, all documents were stored in a sortable format.
But computers in those times really weren't fast, so instead of formatting documents when printed they decided to change the standard.
And so adopted ISO 2014 before it became an ISO standard.
(It was suggested 1971 and adopted 1976)

All ads are dumbing down: I play a couple of Android games on my phone and all it seems to give me at the moment are Timex watch ads which are really stupid.
Since Timex watches were always knows for their incredible accuracy (if only in determining when the warrantee had expired rather than as far as the time of day was concerned) I'm still surprised the company exists at all, but not so surprised that their adverts look like 1960s magazine ads photocopied onto a computer ...

I'm sure it tells you more about the aiming group.
Which could be worrying.

today I plug in mew new curved monitor into DELL 5810 workstation and see no any response on monitor.
I can see the power light on Chassis is flashing but monitor did not receive any signal from my computer.
DELL 5810 is so quiet and there is no any light within chassis, so I wonder if this computer has issues since I got from eBay.
later on I figured out that this new curved monitor needs to do some basic configurations. So I made basic configuration using the bouton on the back of monitor.
it worked and Window10 desktop displayed clearly.
this DELL 5810 is pre-installed with Windows 10 Pro, which I assumed it was barebone machine.
now I want to take off this SSD(SATA) drive and replace with my SSD (NVMe) hard drive.
so I still have something to do in new year eve.
diligent hands rule....

I just want to wish you all a Happy New Year and a prosperous 2022 (with some hopeful return to normality)!
I haven't been very active on CodeProject the last couple of years, what with work and now enjoying (and steep learning) my Astrophotography and building up my observatory.
However, for anyone interested, I have posted this end of year video with some of my better images from the past year. I'm just hoping I can continue to get better next year, when the elephanting rain and clouds clear!
