At that time for me there was Doom II - my first serious videogame was Wolfenstein 3D. Always been an FPS guy since back then.

Starting Macintosh LC II was also big fun, especially at night ... I think my neighbours were awake each time when its gong went off ...

If you ever had a job that had an MSDN account that ended being helpfully linked with your personal account on your home PC.
And then left that job.
You know what I am talking about... :/
It keep saying there is an issue with my linked account. But I can't unlink it, because I can't login into it, because I am no longer working over there, obviously. And it keep warning me every single day.... This Artificial Stupidity in action! So damn annoying!

I once had my MSDN or whatever account linked to my employer (for partner benefits).
Then I left the company and the only one who could unlink it... You guessed it, was my ex-employer
Luckily we ended on good-ish terms (although I left before getting a new job and I took unpaid leave, so if anything, that sends a message ).
After my request to unlink, they did so within a day.
Still ridiculous, it's my account and it's only linked because I allow it.

I had a similar issue trying to get my personal Microsoft account unlinked from a dead email address. As far as I remember it took quite some time and a lot of fiddling about to get it done. Oh, and Microsoft help - not.

There's a reason I don't link personal and work accounts...
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

When I had Fakebook I adamantly refused to allow coworkers in my friends list, and I often banned them preemptively.

I never have - at least not knowingly.
And still, at one point in time I ended up with something similar to the OP's situation - my work MSDN account somehow got linked with my personal account. I could never figure out how to break the link, and still maintain access to what I needed.

On a similar note, I downloaded the old Express versions from MS on my work account email. A few years later, I received a full MSDN license through the same company. The Express downloads blocked the assignment and still cause issues a decade later. I had to setup a separate hotmail account for my corporate license.
MS was zero help in deleting the old account.

Ribbon? What's that?
Insert | Break... it's right there on the Standard toolbar where it's always been. I've been using it all day.
